To say this is a bad film is an understatement of course, but there's a perverse joy in watching this dreck unfurl. It's almost like witnessing Ed Wood directing a Batman film (just check Martin Landau's take on Bela Lugosi in Tim Burton's "Ed Wood" and how Mr. Freeze's lines almost replicate them). There's really no redemption on this film, save perhaps for the score from Elliot Goldenthal and The Smashing Pumpkins' title song. Other than that it's an array of poorly written exchanges between the characters, little to no chemistry between the leads, and a sad witness of talented performers such as Uma Thurman and George Clooney trying their best to bring some sort of gravitas and dimension to a laughable script (how Akiva Goldsman has continued to work is puzzling).
