Fun, refreshing movie!
24 June 2011
This is definitely an entertaining and refreshing movie. It's full of color and exuberance. The search for identity, love, family, humanism, comedy, romance are all explored within this movie. The acting was fresh and vibrant, the characters engaging, and the jokes genuinely funny. The entire auditorium was laughing out loud every minute or so. This film trots along nicely at a lovely pace, never dwelling on anything longer than necessary or leaving anything unfinished, keeping the viewer entertained and mentally engaged. The director shows amazing technical skill especially with the execution of the fight scenes and the Bollywood song and dance numbers.

Considering this was the director's first movie with a very limited budget and resources, I look forward to her next projects. She is without a doubt very talented, and she can definitely tell a story with amazing finesse!

The movie made me sleep...

Michael Douglas's performance was great. But he usually delivers solid performances. Beyond that, the acting in this movie was not great. I don't understand why Shia LaBeouf and the Carrie Mulligan were cast in the movie at all - they seem so weak and lacked even an iota of glamor. Susan Sarandon's character seemed unnecessary. The movie did have some funny lines. I liked the Ducatis and some of the wardrobe design. The cinematography was excellent - especially the racing scenes with the Ducatis! However, overall this movie was nowhere near as good as the original. The ending of this movie was very abrupt. Overall, it was a complete letdown.
