The Banshees of Inisherin (2022)
Regret watching.
Quite an amusing tale that shifts halfway through and becomes increasingly disturbing. Left me shocked and in tears - not in a good way.
Blindsided by the pain of losing a loved animal. Keep watching in some vain hope all would become well. I should not have done.
For a supposed comedy, we will be traumatised by this film for weeks.
Should come with a warning for anyone who loves animals to avoid. Should come with a warning about self-mutilation. Should have a warning, this film does not have a hopeful, happy or upbeat ending. Does not even have a satisfactory ending.
I seriously regret watching this.
Wakefulness (2018)
A film that is experienced, rather than just viewed.
Okay, so this isn't a feature film like one might expect, it is more like a pensive meditative journey, however, there is more to it than what first meets the eye.
From the beginning, one might think Wakefulness just a collection of arty shots, and people may give up of this film a short while in, but if one stick with it, one start to notice themes emerge and patterns evolve. Things begin to connect in a way similar to how the mind works when one's asleep, and it's not too long before one starts to question what is real, what is dreamt, and what is imagined.
