"Joan of Arcadia" is probably the only show I've ever seen that actually makes me think. What if God actually took bodies of real people that you knew and than spoke to you? With that in mind you'd probably be nice to every person you came into contact with.
But with that aside it makes me think as well as being entertaining. It's somewhat like the book except I don't think she gets burned to death in the end. Joan doing good deeds is nice to see, and plus she's just a normal teenager... she just happens to be in contact with God at unexpected times. And it's not just centered around Joan and her encounters with God, it's also about her family.
I for one really like this show and I hope they'll keep making episodes of it.
