This movie is profound in at he very least it depicts what could happen to society if all the women disappeared. The imagery is as good as Fargo and Capote. Writing directing and staring...I tip my hat Mr. Affleck..not at any second did I feel like i watching Science fiction. Thank You for the wonderful cinematic experience

The Leftovers (2014–2017)

Very fine TV viewing
12 May 2016
Warning: Spoilers
OK..so for the first time in a very long time TV viewers get something so original and at times profound that is produced here in the US and it's got one season left. That's just typical...the producers and writers claim it was the plan from the beginning...my gut tells me its because of low viewer numbers...I mean here is a series with more guts and style than almost anything in the last 10 years...not to mention the production value...everything works for this series...the concept...the writing...the ACTING!...the editing...and the most outstanding original music!...its going to take a long time for us to get another quality show like The Leftovers...I can't wait for season three and that will surely be bittersweet.

Excellent standout performances
19 December 2013
I watched this film 4 days ago and still cannot get it out of my mind. This movie is sad. To watch a basically good person endure so much hardship and pain is troubling. The production value of this film is excellent. The soundtrack is a perfect match. The acting is superb, especially Casey Affleck, his finest performance. He really is outstanding in this character and fills the film with tension. All the other leads are very good as well. Well done Mr Scott! The story is compelling and could be the true life of some poor unfortunate people. Woody Harrelson rocks the violent psychopath as usual. I gave it an 8 instead of 9.5 because the ending seemed to me ambiguous. Otherwise an outstanding 2 hours of theater.

Sweet without all the sugar
8 August 2013
I don't know where to start. This is the film that Gus Van Sant always wanted to make when he was alive. Oh wait...he IS alive...sort of. A really excellent soundtrack....Cab Calaway?...really?...lol...the one camera shooting was very annoying..it's really not how we see things and very much really not what we expect in well made films...Olly Alexander is such an amazing talent...hope he stays true to his perceptions of art..this is one truly fun little film...loved seeing the ocean on the east coast rather than the obligatory northern pacific coast...there were some very well conveyed emotions to be seen and experienced...and the feeling of coming in out of the cold was nothing less than brilliant....thanks to the post prod team...excellent editing..

Bowie at his best
1 December 2012
this live performance film from the Serious Moonlight tour is Bowie at his finest...no gimmicks...the music stands on it's own...Bowie and his band are flawless...an outstanding collection of all his greatest songs...have watched this concert over and over and it never gets tired...the performance is very energetic and fresh...the stage costumes are spot on for the time...(mid 80's)...featuring one of the best recordings of Young American ever recorded...Modern Love..Fashion...Heros..Look Back in Anger...this film is an excellent archive of Bowies talent and enduring style...also note the title related surprise during the closing number of the concert...
