For me the best thing is how a novel written by a Russian philosopher that died in the year 1900 remains relevant today. Two world wars and millions of dead later it's like listening to 21. Century liberals and conservatives argue.

It's hilarious. I suppose it's terrible when you know that you don't get it and that you never will. :) That's where all the salt is coming from.

As for the movie, it's almost flawless. There is a bit very near the end that I really dislike. The rest is great. And it's better than THE VVITCH. At least you know what you're in for from the very beginning, but still you have no idea how it will turn out. If you don't mind movies with almost no dialogue, and quite a lot of ambiguity, you have to see this one.

I like movies with unique storyline. Too bad it wasn't a bit more fleshed out, but it was obviously a buddies project, and having that in mind it's really great. The premise is good enough to carry a full length movie that you can shoot over a weekend with a camcorder. That's not easy to come up with at all.

The Levenger Tapes (2013)

In some aspects the director managed to make the most out of very little. It shows how seemingly insignificant and trivial events can look very threatening in some circumstances. Sadly, the rest of the movie was very sub par. You see that quite often. A movie maker has a talent and good ideas, and delivers on them, but he messes up the paint-by-numbers parts. Well, creativity is not enough. You have to deliver the whole package.

But truly annoying. Because it's realistic. Not for people who don't like realism. The girl is annoying because she acts realistically. The guy is also annoying, for the same reason. The same goes for the whole premise and the plot. In real life there are always things that would look implausible in a movie. Anyone who read anything on real crimes knows that. So, don't listen to people who say it's "stupid and poorly written". If anything, it's too real. I have no problem with people having cinematic preferences, disliking or even hating a movie, but when giving a reason for it, at least try not missing it completely and stating the opposite.
