He loved coffee and in the end he was enjoyed as coffee!
Come on people, this movie was funny. Even if it was forced ridiculous comedy, most of the movie made me laugh.
Who cares if it broke the formula of what a traditional film script should emotionally do, at some point you have to appreciate the fact that at times you would laugh out loud.
As complicated and "wrong" as Zak's character was you have to appreciate that not many comedians these days can play a character like that, Zak did a great job and continues to refine his unique style of comedy.
As for Downey's part, I think making him cruel was an interesting choice, it would seem even more that these types of characters wouldn't get along but they did.
It's a comedy, and comedies need to make you laugh regardless of breaking traditional film making rules. I mean there people drinking a dead person's ashes as coffee!
Saiyûki (1978)
This is by far one of the most unique TV series.
"In the land before monkey, primal chaos ruled ..." - a quote from the show.
On this show, the dialogue is both crazy and hilarious!
The storylines are just as crazy, with a mixture of fighting scenes and very interesting characters and actors.
The sets and special effects are very 'old school' and this adds to the comical nature of the series. Not to be missed, once you see a couple of the shows you'll want to see the whole series.
