We Need to Talk About Sandy Hook (2014)
Terrible, Poorly Done, and Deeply Injurious
As a person close to this tragedy, closer than I ever wanted to be, I find films like this repulsive and vile. It says nothing good about our society that more than a few people are more worried about a vast, shadowy (and unsupportable) conspiracy to take away their guns, than they are about 20 children and 6 adults being senselessly slaughtered in a school.
I saw more than a few careers ended in law enforcement and EMS as a result of the horrific carnage the first responders were subjected to that terrible day; friends and colleague who just couldn't go on in their respective fields. A father of one of the murdered children committed suicide. The damage continues to resonate throughout the community and state.
I harbor a place of pity In my heart for people dumb enough to buy into this trash conspiracy and special loathing for the individuals who push their delusions and maniacal theories for personal aggrandizement and attention seeking. The authors of this dreadful screed are a damnable lot who deserve public shaming. At the very least, they should get the mental health assessment and treatment they desperately need.
