What happened to the look?
27 September 2008
Another show done in by HD!! During the two-hour season premiere of Grey's Anatomy I could not help but notice that the cast looked atrocious. What I mean is that all scars, wrinkles and skin imperfections were so visible, they were in fact distracting. This is not meant as a critique of the physical features of the actors but the choice of the network and production executives to shoot in HD. 'High definition' by its very nature is absolutely unforgiving and when used by uncaring producers, who are trying to increase their profit by cutting costs, comes at the expense of the actors' appearance and the technical crew's experience.

Please take some time and spend some money on returning to the look that we have come to expect and enjoy, it is sad to see a successful show regress as profits are pulled off the screen and slipped into the pockets of the bean counters. Why should a news anchor have better care taken of their appearance than the leading ladies (and guest stars) of a popular dramatic series.

The audience is watching and we are NOT amused.
