Shining Vale (2022)
Exhausting
I really want to like this show more... I do, but it's not happening. The family is as dysfunctional as possible... Nobody believes one another so the story goes nowhere... The son is one of the most exceptionally annoying characters I have ever wanted to hospitalize.... Even the dog, somewhere along the way, turns me into a volcanic ball of rage. 1st season.... Everyone except for the mother either dismisses what is happening all around them, or try to Encyclopedia Brown the hell out of it. (It's award winning aggravating.)
So, of course, decided to continue the show's aneurysm inducing story line by starting the second season. Yay... the mom thinks that she is just crazy and now another character is beginning to see/hear things.
The acting is great.... The storyline... Not so much.
The Out-Laws (2023)
The guy is ridiculously annoying
Ten minutes of listening to the main actor of this film annoyed me so unbelievably bad that I couldn't sit through any more of the torture. (Anyone who says "prezeez" instead of presents and "boinking" for sex is unbearable.) His tone and demeanor are so juvenile that he belongs on a Nickelodeon show for preteens. I can't actually name a character that I enjoyed in the short amount of time that I wasted watching. (Other than Nina Dobrev because she acted somewhat normal and is great to look at.) This is unfortunately the only movie that I can remember that I cannot think of a single positive thing to mention.
Evil (2019)
Worth A Watch
Good show with an interesting premise. I am only ten episodes in, but it's kept me coming back so far regardless of the show having two of the most ridiculously annoying aspects. (The villain, and the four daughters.) I'm not sure if the creators were going for endearing and comical chaos with the daughters, but it makes me want to throw something and fails miserably.
Ms. Marvel (2022)
I Tried
I am a fan of just about everything Marvel, but not this. (What possible reason could they have to produce this childish waste of time?) If you say "It's for the kids" you're ridiculous. -So is basically every Marvel movie/show that exists. (Excluding a few... AKA "Logan" and "Deadpool" to name a few.) I figured that it would only be a matter of time before the inevitable downslope of worthwhile material that happens whenever Disney takes control of anything.
Runaways (2017)
Just One Question... Why?
Marvel's Runaways is an amazing triumph of pure cinematic garbage. Honestly I don't know how this thing has three seasons... I just finished watching the 8th episode of the 1st season and I asked myself the same question following the last seven... "Why am I wasting my time?"
I am a Marvel fan but I have to tell you... The storyline is trash... The characters are impressively annoying while debating about things now that they had in the first few episodes. Long winded whining that makes me want to throw something. They argue about every ridiculous problem and every ridiculous feeling until it's beat to death... (Then it will come up again later... Just if, you know, you missed the memo.) Typically a series might have a cliffhanger or two along the way but not with "Runaways." (Something exciting would have to happen in order for a cliffhanger, and even then it would probably be better described as standing a few yards away from the cliff's edge) There is only one character that I enjoy and it is because it doesn't speak and isn't human.
Halo: Homecoming (2022)
The Flood?
***Sigh*** I hope that the incurable disease that killed Master Chief's planet is "The Flood." My campaign with the Halo series of games began with it.... Ended with the second installment. (More Covenant than anything.)
