Castlevania: The Endings (2021) Season 4, Episode 9

The entire Castlevania series has been pure gold, and this chapter is the climax where everything comes together. Action, tension, revelations and superb animation. What else can you ask for?

My only complain is that is has set a too high standard for anything that I watch in the future. Castlevania has shown us what modern animation can and should be, with characters you love, villains whose motives you understand, intelligent fights, and the feeling that you are watching art.

And then, a finale that not only matches the quality of the overall series, but it brings it to the next level. I would write more, but I am going back to rewatch the fight scenes.

Cobra Kai: Extreme Measures (2022) Season 5, Episode 5

Back on track

After a few slow chapters that even made me consider stopping watching the series, Cobra Kai is back to its best moments in Extreme Measures.

The chapter provides both plot and character advancement, with well developed scenes that are believable and that contain the right combination of emotions and humor. We also finally get some good and exciting fights involving key characters, as well as several Johnny-moments.

Extreme Measures even improves my opinion of the previous chapters, as the different breakups and conflicts (which I felt was turning this series into a regular soap opera) have placed the characters in the right situation for the events that take place.

Overall, I feel that this chapter brought us back to the best moments of Cobra Kai and sets the stage for a much more exciting second half of the season.
