The Adults (2023)

Embarrassing

Love Michael Cera. When I saw this movie had him in it it seemed like a no brainer to watch it.

It's one of those movies where you wait for something interesting to happen... then you shift your expectations and think ok, maybe it's slow but the ending is really going to make the movie.

It doesn't. Nothing of any significance happens. The dance routines, songs, voices, impressions - they were all so cringeworthy I felt embarrassed.

Hannah Gross was excellent and Sophia Lillis I liked too.

But the story line... it really wasn't explained or portrayed in a way that you felt involved. The scenes lingered but with no impact or emotional investment. Then it just ended.

If you've read this to decide whether to watch it, just save your time and pick whatever your other options are.

Christmas Twister (2012 TV Movie)

The best comedy and worst thriller

As a thriller this is probably the worst movie I've ever seen. Whoever wrote it clearly hasn't ever lived around tornadoes or even seen one. Acting, bad. Script, bad. Plot, bad. Production, bad. Comedy factor, Gold 10/10.

The problem is, tornadoes don't act the way the movie says. People who live in tornado alley don't act this way either. They're smart enough to know signs and what to do.

The tornado at the mall was so small I don't think it would have even broken a window... and the girl's plan? Run to Santa? Good grief.

It's one of those "it's so bad I couldn't stop watching it" kind of movies.

Great then not so much

Season 1... amazing. Watch it. Absolutely loved it. What a cast too. Season 2... amazing. Great story, love Colin Farrell too. Season 3... what?... I can't understand a word they're saying. Couldn't follow the story. No clue what's going on. abandoned it half way through.

The Outsider (2020)

Such a shame

This started off SO good. Jason Bateman is great. It's dark and moody and twisted and I was totally on board. I told the wife and we sat down to watch it together. Next, episode 2, not bad. Then... it just fell apart. It went from thrilling and interesting to boring and just bad. They add characters without any introduction. I honestly don't know who's who at this point. They fail to explain anything, even just a little. Long drawn out scenes that lead to no-where. Severely disappointed. Ben Mendleson (hope I got that right) was great in Bloodline. Not his fault.

Fear the Walking Dead (2015–2023)

I am stunned how bad this is

I have this 2 stars because it has an interesting storyline potential... That got 1 extra star. That aside, the production team and writers have been handed a gold mine here. The walking dead was a huge hit and they had every opportunity to create a breathtakingly tense, involved, dramatic show and they catastrophically failed. Every episodes leaves me with 2 emotions and 1 disbelief: 1) frustration that nothing interesting happened and 2) angry I wasted my time and 1 disbelief is that they can write such bad shows.

Here's my constructive criticism...

Make me love the characters or hate them or even just mildly care if any of them die. Leave us with drama, with cliffhangers, something to make me want to watch the next episode. Explain things... Aside from maybe 1 character we know nothing much about them, but don't give us episodes of flashbacks or slow story. Make things vaguely believable... I won't say what as this review has no spoilers. Link things up a bit. We all love walking dead, name drop, tie it in, do something to make us care at least a little bit.

Summary is that it's a horrible show which I hope either dramatically changes or gets cancelled, preferable the former. If you like wasting your time and then being mad about it and hating every moment of the experience, then watch this show.

Monsters (2010)

...time ill never get back

i am genuinely annoyed at this film. I watched it because it sounded interesting. It was quite the opposite. Sure, the idea is nice in places.. perhaps would of made an OK book if someone else had written it, but...

...it was SOOOO BORING!

Nothing happens... at all. at any point. Story is weak, filming is decent, but that means nothing when there's no content.

Spent a good part of the film wondering why it was shot in the dark - and the other half waiting to see if something good might happen.

For all those that say its Arty - i am an art appreciator, but this is not art. Art stirs passion and awe and excitement.

You know those films that end and you go... "was that it??"... this is one of them.
