The X-Files: Re-Opened (2015)
Mulder and Scully are back!
Yes, Spooky Mulder and Dr. Scully are back! The season kickoff was so riveting I started watching all of the old episodes again! Their quirky chemistry, the hint of sexual tension, serious spookiness, and Mulder's silliness really made the pilot and continues to be what makes this show the best series ever. I liked some season 10 episodes better than others, the first couple episodes being my favorite along with the magic mushroom scene. The spoof episodes were just too goofy and took away from the entire season. Oh, please bring back the aliens, they make the x-files so much more believable! Don't forget that the truth is out there and worth looking for, so keep 'm coming!
Bates Motel (2013)
Love it!
Not sure if there are any spoilers in here, but thought I'd be safe... The Bates Motel is a fun and captivating show!! It's not at all the "blood and gore" horror of it's predecessor, Psycho. I really enjoy watching the suspenseful, psychological twists as they unravel between Norman and Norma/"Mother" and in the strange, kooky town's devilish cast of characters surrounding the Bates Motel. It's always fun to watch "Mother" control and sabotage all of Norman's efforts for normalcy. As their enmeshed relationship develops, another family member, Dylan(Norman's half brother) brings a fresh, element of surprise to the old Psycho... Be sure to watch it from the beginning to catch all the nuances!
The Karate Kid (2010)
Cute Movie
I loved this movie. The scenery and looking in on Chinese culture was my favorite part of the movie!! Especially the calisthenics, architecture, the play with the puppets, and the lady moving with the cobra on the cliff. Jaden Smith and Mei are absolutely charming and adorable. I personally thought the hip hop and the dancing scenes were fun and made an interesting contrast with the Chinese culture. This was a great roll for Jackie Chan. His fight scenes are always so well choreographed-too bad we didn't see more of him. Overall, I liked the movie as much as Karate Kid one and much more than Karate Kid two, which was beyond silly at times. I personally would have appreciated more originality in the movie regarding fighting. Too many fight scenes were reminiscent of the original.
