I was fortunate enough to receive two pilot episodes of Next! mailed to be by Bob Odenkirk, the show's creator. I met him out in Los Angeles in the Summer of 2002 at the signing for HBO's Mr. Show with Bob and David. This happened right after Fox broke the news that they were going to pass on the show. Bob seemed quite distraught over the situation and really wanted people to see it. I think if given the chance, this show could have survived for quite a long run on a network like Comedy Central, but as usual, Fox executives wouldn't know a good show if it crapped comedy gold all over their collective faces. Next! had loads of talent and solid writing with a fresh editing style. What's worst of all is that Fox passed on Next! to do the horribly unfunny and short-lived "Cedric the Entertainer Presents."

The Stöned Age
(1994)
Really Funny Bad Movie
17 September 2003
This movie is really great in its own light. A cult classic, The Stoned Age has lots of great lines, but no real substance. It seems like the kind of movie that you and your buddies could have written. But there is a certain charm to this movie that cannot be overlooked.
Often written off as "a Dazed and Confused rip-off", the two movies were actually written at the same time, but The Stoned Age was not a major motion picture and therefor was not released until after D&C.
