Bluey: Mini Bluey (2021)
Season 3, Episode 7
3/10
Irresponsible episode
23 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I'm a huge fan of Bluey and I truly enjoy watching it with my family and even by myself. I've always held Bluey to high standards as the writing and messages are, in my opinion, phenomenal. So I'm not coming here as a Bluey hater at all. I'm here to give constructive criticism and feedback as there are parts of this episode that don't sit right with me.

Unfortunately, I found myself disappointed after watching this episode. 99% of the time, Chili and Bandit handle conflicts and misunderstandings appropriately and are quick to take accountability if they mess up around their kids or towards them. However, in "Mini Bluey", Bandit makes a mistake in letting a hurtful comment slip towards Bluey. Bluey becomes upset and the conflict in this episode is never properly addressed and no apologies are given or implied.

During the course of this episode, Bluey and Bingo colour their fur with "hair chalk" and pretend to be each other. Towards the end of the episode, Bandit announces that he "could definitely get used to two Bingos", and Bluey becomes upset and runs off. This may seem insignificant to adults, but to kids, hurtful comments like this can be damaging and sit with them for life.

The problem with this episode is not solely with what Bandit said to Bluey; its the fact that there is never any apology, follow-up, or closure to the situation. Yes, Bandit did say he wanted one of each child at the end of the episode - that's not enough. He is never shown taking action, accountability or apologizing to his daughter.

In Bluey, almost all of the time the adults are gentle and responsible; and when they make a mistake they are shown taking appropriate action...but not in this episode. Yes, it's important to show the parents watching that no parent is perfect - that's shown through Bandit's mistake in this episode. What people don't seem to understand is that it's just as important to have these adult characters show and model responsible behaviour. In other words, it's okay to mess up around your kid and not be perfect, it's NOT okay to hurt your child's feelings and then refuse to apologize or take accountability. There were also a few derogatory comments said towards Bluey throughout this episode. Then, for the cherry on top, after Bluey runs away crying the parents quietly say to each other how good it is having "two Bingos". I don't know if this is meant to be a joke, but this went too far and in my opinion, it's irresponsible and insensitive writing.

I don't know what people were thinking when they made this episode. Scripts have to go through multiple stages until it gets cleared, and the makers of Bluey seemed to see nothing wrong with this one. Like I said, Bluey is a wonderful show. I truly enjoy watching it and it brings me a lot of joy. This episode brought on major disappointment and I hope the feedback people have given them will be taken seriously.

Rated this one a 3/10 because of the cute characters and humor of the kids looking like each other.

Bluey: The Decider (2022)
Season 3, Episode 37

Amazing. Felt genuine emotion in this one
23 October 2023
This show just keeps on amazing me. This episode really brought out the emotions during the end. "The Decider" brings together the Retriever and Heeler neighbors and their kids to watch a suspenseful football tournament. Throughout the episode, Chucky struggles to identify with which team he wants to be on, as both of his parents are on separate teams. This conflict seems to strongly hint towards divorce and the pain/confusion that children might feel while going through it (they may have to "choose" sides). The writing in this episode is wonderful as always, but the music is on another level, especially during the scene where Chucky chooses which side he will be on. The episode ends on such a beautiful note as well with everybody coming together.

Bluey has already accomplished so much in the short time its been on air/stream, and as already touched on so many important topics - I can absolutely see a bright future with this show. 10/10.

Incredible writing
16 July 2023
This is a wonderful episode and so much is packed into it, I sometimes forget it's only 7 minutes long. The writing is fantastic in this one and Rad and Frisky are just great here. Everything surrounding Bluey's apprehension/nervousness about sleeping while her parents are away is approached with sensitivity and compassion. The message at the end, "you have to give it a go anyways" even if you're scared is something people of any age can benefit from hearing. Rad and Frisky are wonderful with Bluey during this particular scene. That's what makes the show so special - the adults are always shown validating children's feelings and problems (big or small) and they don't minimize their problems because "they're children".

Rad and Frisky's connection/attraction throughout the episode is such a nice addition and can at times be quite humorous and sweet. The music is amazing, as always, especially at the end. Well done guys!

Bluey: Space (2022)
Season 3, Episode 34

Very impressive writing and symbolism
23 June 2023
This has to be my favorite Bluey episode of all time - its clear this episode was made more for the parents this time. The way trauma is approached and handled is absolutely spectacular here and anybody, no matter how old, can benefit from watching this episode. Everything here is handled with compassion and sensitivity. Bluey is starting to become known for how well it handles mental health which is so refreshing and modern to see.

"Space" is one of the less common episodes where the focus centers on three secondary characters (Rusty, Mackenzie and Jack). Arthur (1995) would sometimes also take this secondary character approach, and I always liked it because I find it's great for building character depth. In this episode, we watch as the three friends play outside, pretending to be on a spaceship in outer space. Through this play, MacKenzie is able to come to terms with and process an experience he went through years ago. The writing and symbolism are absolutely beautiful and this episode is worth the watch for people of all ages. 10/10.

Supernanny: Schumacher Family (2008)
Season 4, Episode 3
10/10
One of Supernanny's best episodes in a long time
9 May 2012
I thought "The Schumacher Family" was one of Supernanny's most touching, and satisfying episodes that ever aired. Jo proved that deep down inside the three kids, they were just expressive, caring and considerate children. Alexi (11) being the most sensitive child in the family was what helped make the episode even more touching. The same goes for Jessica (14), too. (Even though she put on a stubborn attitude while working to build houses for homeless people, Jo's talk with her proved that she was just ashamed of her attitude, and therefore, didn't know how to express her feelings at the time.) Not to mention Dylan's (7) lovingness for his family. It was so cute to see all three children playing together near the end of the episode. All of the children simply just needed stronger guidance from their parents, and when Jo helped make that happen, everything turned out for the best. Great episode.

Brilliant Children's TV Series
14 October 2010
My younger brother absolutely loves this show; and prefers Rex as his favourite character. I've learned to like this too, as the theme song is very catchy! I quite enjoy these little shows from Halifax; as they are very short, they seem to include everything a preschooler and kinder-garter would like to watch on TV. A lot of preschool shows, use clay-mation, and stop motion. So I'm glad that the animators chose to use CGI. original. It is very educational, and is a lot of fun for preschoolers, too, as the characters go on a number of problem solving adventures. The characters are well created, and are perfect for preschoolers. Although the episodes are very short, This is one show that will always be on my TV!

Crash Team Racing (1999 Video Game)

CTR is amazing
12 September 2010
Warning: Spoilers
This game makes up my whole childhood. When I was a kid, I just had to play Crash Bandicoot; it was my favourite. The graphics are amazing, and the audio is great. CTR is one of my favourite Crash Bandicoot games. Even compared to todays standards, this game is the best, and the racing tracks are amazingly designed. Crash Nitro Kart is great too, but Crash Team racing will always be my favourite. Unfortunateley, this was the last game to be created my Naughty Dog; the original creators of Crash. But that doesn't mean that the other games aren't great, even if the creators are different. Mario fans, look out, because this game will pass Mario Kart on the game ratings list!

They Don't Make Cartoon Movies Like This Anymore!
10 August 2010
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is amazing. It is the best Walt Disney movie I've ever seen. It's full of adventure, heart, and comedy. The part with the spirits is just incredible. The animation is rich, and the characters are well made too. Koda, in particular, is my personal favourite, with his bubbly spirit; he is so cute. Kenai, who got turned into a bear, has to put up with Koda on the journey which he calls an "annoying" cub. The song "On My Way" is pretty catchy too.

Probably anyone who watches this movie, will feel heart warmed, and feel the adventure after this movie is over. The music is great, and everything else about this movie, is spectacular.
