Murder Ordained (1987)
Good made-for-TV crime movie
This is one of the better made-for-TV movies about a true life crime. Yes, it is predictable, but it is a good story. I have it on VHS and am hoping that soon it will be put out on DVD.
Since the movie was made, Tom Bird has been released on parole (in 2004) but Lorna has NOT (even though another review says otherwise). Here is a link to her online inmate record: http://docnet.dc.state.ks.us/kasper2/offender.asp?id=14525 I believe I read that she will be released on parole in Nov. 2005 or 2006.
(I am happy to have read that the Rules are still happily married). I would love to hear how well the children of the Birds and the Andersons are doing. I hope that they have done well in spite of what has happened in life.

Brigham City (2001)
disturbed by this movie
I watched this movie, due to the fact that it was a "serial killer" movie, and was very disappointed. Not only was religion (the predominant religion of this state) a major focus of the story, but the Constitution of our Country was thrown out. Any decent, law-abiding sheriff would NEVER have the members of his church congregation go door to door demanding that they be allowed to search their homes, like it or not. And if they did not agree to it, then the sheriff would come to the house and force it upon them. I am appalled that a filmmaker would put such a thing in a movie and then people say this is a great movie. Doesn't anyone believe in our Constitution any more????
In Broad Daylight (1991)
not the best, but probably not the worst
While the movie was not the most "action-packed" or have the twists that others may want, it was a decent movie. It is based on the true story of Ken McElroy and the terror he brought to his small town and his "death". The names in the story were changed, but it appeared to cover most of the facts.
