Kannagi (2023)

Neet screen play and story telling

This is a good work. A must watch movie. Every one acted well. The jumps in the begining was bit hard to accept but as the stroy flows we used to accept it.

Love, Hate, Romance, Passion, Disappointment. Somany things drives it.

The connection was so beautiful. I was not expected a such connection. All 4 stories are narrated well. As soon as we notice the small details we can see the connection, but that is nearly at the end of the movie.

We hate actions of some person based on their current way of handling things but their past my be something else.

These kind of stries should get recoganised.

Mark Antony (2023)

I GIVE TWO FOR SJ SURYA ONLY

This is movie is not mess or completely forgetable but a good potential wasted.

We are not expecting a serious SCi-Fi time travel movie like, Indru netru naalai, but a Comedy time travel. All scenes with SJ Surya worked out well but I think they should have choosen a worthy protogonist for him, in a sence of acting.

Stroy and screen play is ok. There isn't much twist or truns all are predictable only. BGM is noisy and songs are ok. Camera work with unclean lense effect is pain in they eyes!

If we remove SJ Surya from the movie it would be the worst one.

I am not sure why always the 70's and 80's every one has lots of Hair and uncombed look!

Pizza 3: The Mummy (2023)

misunderstood Pizza 1 as a ghost thriller.

Apart from Pizza effect or Thriller effect what every they tried I am very disappointed as soon as the voice overlay and lip sync was gone miles from the actors.

Very boring same old "PEI" movie. Very good casting wasted. None of the characters developed properly and lots and lots of misconnections and cut scenes.

Not sure what they try to achieve in this plot or story. Finally left audience nowhere. Pizza climax was so exiting and goosebumps, this 2 and 3 were no where near to it.

Who's story is this The Mummy? Or Ashwin? Or The Girl? None of them is clear and no connection at all.

My grandmother can tell better "PEI" story than these guys!

Good Night (II) (2023)

Another feel good experience

Thanks to writer, director Vinayak Chandrasekaran for give a feel good movie. All actors portraited their characters very well. Special applause to Manikandan, Meetha Raghunath, Ramesh Thilak, Raichal Rabecca.

When the man with Snoring tries different methods to solve that, my inner self repeatedly saying that it is an issue for the girl for few days only, she will get adapt to the sound in few days. There is no one to explain that, to the couples.

The movie never lags anywhere, a simple story on a daily file issue given in straight forward screen play. Music, Cinematography, Art work all are very beautiful. I gave of 10 for the perfection and to encourage such a content.

Saw it with Family we laughed loud and Loved it!

Kudos.

Yaathisai (2023)

Good attempt

I am giving 10 stars for the attempt they made. The effort they put on this movie and to encourage others to follow.

My original rating will be 6 out of 10. The cinematography is very appreciable. Set design, art work, makeup, costume design were as good a research materials. The war scenes were made as close as possible. The fight between Ranatheeran and Kothi is well done. Both actors gave their best.

Now what lags is the story, screen play and character development. The Ra Ra song in Chandramuki was a pleasant surprise, the choreography and Johthika's performance as the dancer was surprising element. But both the female devadasi characters were very bad on the dance sequence and her death had no impact since the character was not developed well.

We have seen many movies based on this clan raising backdrop, it is not new. Atleast the way story told could be thought through. I should be worried about the Kothi and his clan at the climax but it didn't worked out. It seems something is missing.

Again I give 10 for the attempt made.

Bholaa (2023)

A hilarious Lollu Sabha episode!

We are still waiting for a genuine remake of a Tamil movie with all its essential elements preserved, from Bollywood, that still a dream.

Movies with mass appeal exist in Tollywood too, but Kaithi is not one of them. It is decent to its core. Every time the build up given to Bholaa was reminding me Santhanam's Dikkiloona movie and laughing on the ground.

CG, Cinematography, Dialogs action, Screen play nothing standard, but overdone.

Dili's character and his background was reviled beautifully in Kaithi, here it is completely misunderstood. Arjundass is another key pillar for Kaithi, he was terrifying with this small body and base voice.

This movie, yet again, has been disrespected by Bollywood. Another Furniture broken.

Amazing Stories (2020)

Amazing stories, liked it.

I didn't know about the older version of this series. I didn't even watched the Trailers. Personally I liked all the stories and emotions they expressed. It is not about the sci-fi they show under the hood. The emotions between the characters are worked well. I enjoyed 100%.

All five episodes are interlinked with human relationships and expressed with some sci-fi. I don't want to dive into how part of the sci-fi part since these are short stories, those are for my imaginations.

I see the stories trying to tell the love and humanity, in magical way. I need to watch the original series, will do soon.

Shaakuntalam (2023)

worst story telling and execution

India is called Bharata after the name of the son of Shakuntala.

I have heard this story so many times since my Grand mother name is Shakuntala. My grand parents told this story in epic way and I want to see it on screen.

The team wasted a good love story. The hero and his acting is the most irritating part in the movie. Over cooked CG. Noting was related or not well glued. Costumes and the throne room are the only good things on the movie.

Not sure why such a good stories from our Mythistries are ruined for Blockbusters. I don't see any commercial aspects too.

Dada (2023)

Feel good movie

Watched with out any expectation, nice a very good movie. The way Kavin and Aprana expressing love is real. No over acting, no over dialogue . Very matured performance. That is it. Super.

I can connect me with so many things happen in the movie.

Kavin is apt for this character. Screen play from the frame one is very different. Not going with regular flashback stories. No villain atrocities. This is straight forward and no loop wholes.

A good emotional ride. It is just a life journey with twists all around. Climax is very simple and super. Going to watch again. It deserves a good Rating here. Must watch movie.

Halo (2022– )

Halo absolute awesome

I love this series. It is better than any game adaptation so far. I could give more than 10 stars. I played the game several times and I have master chief collection edition one for me and one for my daughter.

The science fiction background of this game never fails to amaze me, the TV show too.

I named my fir AI chat bot as Cortana, I kid of fond of her. Seeing Cortana in Live action is wonderful. As fan boy of the Game the series didn't disappointed me. Instead letting me wait for Season 2.

I am waiting to see the rings more detailed way and more closer. The actual fight will be on the Rings. I am waiting.

Feel the emotion of Mother and Daughter

It is a Drama of Mother and Daughter in dystopian world with Cyberpunk environment.

It worked out for me since I watch it without expectation the Story and how it fits within the Genre. In Tamil Endiran movie it is about the emotional upraising of a Robot and how it develops the Sentimental sense of the surrounding and even falls in Love.

JUNG_E's core is the love between the Mother and Daughter. A daughter who wants her mother back and a mother who wants to be with her daughter. Finally the daughter understands why the mother fails in combat and sets her free. It is bonding between both. If understand the emotions expressed here it is an Awesome movie, otherwise a failed Cyberpunk action genre.

I say it is must watch Sci-Fi.

Gatta Kusthi (2022)

Entertainer, good and humorous.

I watched the movie without any expectation.

Aishwarya's acting is getting better and better with every movie. Vishnuvishal done great. Music is as usual. No twist and turns but keeps us engaged until the climax of the movie. Karunas, Munishkanth, Kaali venkat all are done their part very well.

Laughed loudly with almost all the comedy scenes after a longtime. Hats off to the team for brining that.

If this movie ran in theaters for some more days, definitely gets more foot fall from public and got good reviews. Throwing in steaming platform very soon is not a good move.

Good film for family watching.

Kantara (2022)

Overhype killed it.

I waited long to watch this movie to be streamed. Honestly, I don't want to read any review before watching the movie, that would spoil my viewing experience.

Finally got it in Prime. All I got is disappointment. I waited, waited, and waited for something to happen big until the climax. But what I saw was 1980's 90's R. K Selvamani movie. It is very old story told several times in Tamil cinema.

The climax of Amman gave more goosebumps than this.

Out of this Rishab Shetty's acting that the end. Should get a national award for the Climax acting, he really nailed it at the end. But the character arch to become a God is completely missing. There is clearly no reason for the forest officer to change his mind, should gave a solid reason.

Please watch "Marmadesam, Vidathu Karuppu." each and every character in the village has a respectful character arch.

Final though Tumbbad wins a surprisingly good movie award from me. Please watch that too.

Andor (2022– )

A Starwars not for children

There is always a serious side of the story. Andor series shows that side clearly and in full phase. There are worlds in Starwars with Trillions and Zillions of people living. We see mostly the white collar side, the generals and troops.

Rouge one showed us the lower deck of this big ship and worked well for me after Mandalorian the Rouge one was the best Starwars story. Now came Andor with same essence.

Hats off to the writers and directors of this series for taking it seriously. The emotional part worked well. I am writing this on the 12th Episode and I guess this is the final episode. Expecting more and more seasons with same essence.

Oke Oka Jeevitham (I) (2022)

Kanam Tamil a must watch

After "Indru Nettru Naalai" a complete emotional time travel to our past. I gave 8/10 because it not as complex as Indru Nettru Naalai and not handling the Predestination well, but still holds and keeps the emotional parts intact.

Amala's acting is superb. I wanted see her comeback as actress after long time. All other characters did their part very well.

We enjoyed the movie very well and travelled with the characters to our past.

The Tamil version is shot in Tamil language itself thanks for that. Production should gave this movie a good advertising and established it well. By seeing the trailer I thought it is dubbed movie. Otherwise I should have seen it on theater.

Next it time please add some light on the Science side too! Thanks.

Natchathiram Nagargirathu (2022)

Bold but overdose...

I had mixed emotions.

Giving two star for the screen play, cinematography and execution

Except Rene all other characters are acting. They don't jell into to their characters because their self conscious knows it is not correct.

Overdose of casteism ("Avalvukku meerinaal amirthamum nanju") when Iniyan standing at Tea estate and inhaling the beauty, Rene stops him and talks about the book she read regarding the Tea workers, from their itself my interest on viewing further is reduced.

Trying to inject western ideology of Love into the people who divided their life into Agam and Puram for centuries.

Kudo's to Pa. Ranjith talking about the caste based murders, which we forget in time, but could have expressed that in some other way.

Upraise a society by educating them, not by barking at others.

Ponniyin Selvan: Part I (2022)

Hard work paid, but could have been better.

Casting - 10/10, as per the novel the Casting selection is brilliant.

Acting - 10/10, as casted, actors did great job. Aishwarya Roy, Trisha, Karthi, Vikram, Jeyam Ravi, Jayaram every one live the characters.

DOP - 10/10, Ravi varman nailed all the frames to next level.

Artwork - 10/10, VFX - 7/10, After seeing the trailer I was kind of disappointed. VFX not great. But on theaters it was updated I think. Ok it seems.

Music - 10/10, AR Rahman no words. Stunts 7/10 not expecting larger than life stunts but it is MGR period sward fights, needs improvement.

Production - 10/10 + 5, +5 because they did the whole shoot on COVID Lock down that should be appreciated.

The big let down is Screen Play - 5/10, since the director failed to establish a clear connection between the Characters, the non book readers are failing to capture the true value of the Ponniyin Selvan story.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022– )

Below 7 is very underrating

So far two episodes. It is mesmerizingly beautiful VFX or CGI. The middle earth on second age without any ruins makes it more beautiful. Characters will change as the show goes. As as LOTR fan and follower, this show so far made me lot of goosebumps moments. It seems too soon to talk about the characters. The Harfoots are so charming. Conflicts between Elves, Humans and Dwarfs are portraited well. It started slowly and picked up phase.

I am watching in both English and Tamil versions, thanks for bringing it to Tamil Audience. And also thanks for bringing it for other Indian languages. Much appreciated.

Kuthiraivaal (2021)

A new genre born

I gave 10/10 for opening a new genre of movie for Tamil Audience. The first biggest applause goes to the Sound Engineering of this movie. Camera work is fantastic, I wonder where they got a such a naturalistic village and enhanced its beauty. Zero or less Visual Effects (CG) is a big plus.

This is not a fantasy movie or psycho thriller. There are movies made for Fans. There are movies made for experiments. The first one can earn more and stay for a while. But the second one will stay for ages in pulp culture. Kuthiraivaal will stay long.

Most of us are living in Fantasy world now, trying to go back to our originality, but lost those days. If we can't go back to the lost world, we start living in the imagination. It happens to everyone once in a life.

Acting of Kalaiarasan, Anjali and Chetan are really good. Good work by the entire team.

The Matrix Resurrections (I) (2021)

The Matrix : Unwanted

Resurrection? He better be dead in our mind. The story and the Cinematics are the best holder for The Matrix Trilogy, that is dead here. It is been 20 years, the technology is improved so much that the cinematic could do better than the The Matrix 1999 but they missed the shot. This is very flat and disengaged. At some point I was thinking like watching a worst Marvel Movie yet.

We Miss Hugo Weaving as Agent Smith, can't take some one else to deliver his performance. Feel very bad for a Matrix Fan. When he was yelling "Mr. Anderson", I yelled "Really?"

And finally all the people of Zion fell to Matrix and they want to live in wonder world? So Neo and Trinity gave up. It broke the purpose of first 3 movies.

Very loose script, bad handling of the plots; spoiled the The Matrix universe.

I better erase the part that I see this movie. I never age 1 rating for any of the Hollywood movies yet. This is first time.

Navarasa (2021– )

All episodes cannot be same

First kudos to the team for bring up the top notch technical work. Actors are all nailed their performances. Neat and clean camera work, art work. Why it was given 18+? I don't see any violence or language or nudity or sex, come on.

Where the series falls is with genre of the story.

Top to Bottom:

1. For me PROJECT AGNI is top notch (as a sci fi fan), Aravindh Swamy and Prasanna lived the characters, expression from Prasanna on every reveal of the new theory is mass. The story should be fresh, because I saw it as prequal to Matrix trilogy. That is ok, I love the way it is presented. This is called a Sci-Fi.

2. Summer of '92, is what we called a laugher treatment.

3. Rowthiram, unexpected twist and got emoted at climax.

4. Inmai, I saw D'jin in many forms, in other series and movies, but this got me frightened. The story thought us as a very essence of our life, fear is nothing but what we think supernatural is real.

That is it other are below average and in order : Peace, Payasam, Edhiri, Thunindha Pinn, Guitar Kambi Mele Nindru. This is just my list from my preceptive and genre.

Thittam Irandu (2021)

Bold attempt

I already saw Predestination with similar plot and amazed! I still give 10/10 because, I never thought the climax twist. Since the Kollywood never touched this area. Till the end I was not able to guess it. I usually do guess the crime themes, this is second time after D16 I missed to see what's coming. Good work Congrats to the team.

I liked this movie. It came to me in Disney Hotstar while searching for a Sci-fi, sorry Science Fiction.

It is hilariously good script. A low budget TVA I guess. Yes just now we finished watching LOKI season 1 and it got struck in my mind.

I strongly recommend watching it. Don't want to spoil the story. Watch it your self and get some tickly tickly experience.

This is such a wonderful journey. We don't know what they are and why they came. But we are happy for them. All characters are well played. I loved the ending. We know this not nature but it got into us slowly. Must watch.

Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)

Thoroughly enjoyed 10/10

This is how I know about Superman. This is how I build up Superman to my daughter. In the pervious version of Justice league only the Flash vs Superman scene was out of the world. This movie got it all.

4 hours went just like that. Initially we thought it might be and extended version, but surprisingly it is altogether a new view. Hats of to the director. Woooo waiting for Darksied bet get kicked.
