It's easy to dismiss all of the comments filled with venom towards this movie as the whiney spewing of fanboys, but I have to admit that they very often get to the heart of the matter. No one was expecting a movie where the stars sit around and chat about time paradoxes for two hours, but this movie seems to forget that the cerebral side of the previous movies. What is freewill? How is it affected by science? Do androids dream of electric sheep (oops). Sure, T3 brings them up, but they are quickly jettisoned for cheap action or laughs. (Yes, laughs. One needs a sense of humor this far into a series, but it passes into the ridiculous.)
There were actually some clever ideas scattered throughout the film. ***Spoilers*** John and Kate's relationship with the weight of the future hanging over it, the T-101's previous mission could fill movies in their own rights, but T3 doesn't look back and sets up the next anticlimax. This film doesn't have subplots, it has drive bys. I'm actually ashamed that my money contributed to the inevitable decision to make another crappy sequel.
