Necrosis (2009)
Good idea... bad realization.
The first few scenes of the movie made me expect something really gross, like cannibalism and lots of gore. In fact, this movie has no gore at all - except for a few gunshot wounds which are so inconsistent that they made me laugh instead of making me say; "Ouch, that's got to hurt!" All right, if it has no gore, at least i expect some good plot and at least a 3/5 score acting. A real shame, because none of these objectives were met; the plot is shallow with some flashes of brilliancy now and then (psychological terror) but truth be told - i wasn't impressed. Not even scared. The other weak points are the actors - really, that kind of bad acting was not seen since... well... i have never seen it - or maybe i have (one movie comes to my mind but i won't tell the name, let's just say THAT movie takes place in 2012).
Unfortunately, i don't have anything positive to say about this movie, except the ending which is not expected, and that makes it somewhat brilliant.
Do not waste your precious time with this title, those few strong points (i am being generous) are not worth wasting 1 hour and 13 minutes, that's how long this charade lasts.
2012: Doomsday (2008)
A lame excuse for a "movie".
The same moment I put the DVD into my laptop and pressed play, I noticed the over-hyped "Wagner" style music as the camera slowly flew above some unnamed river in Mexico; I thought to myself; "Ok, a bad choice of music for the start of the movie - but let's see, maybe it turns into something good at the end." However, it didn't; as the time slider progressed further, I was more and more annoyed and at some point I got so frustrated and felt a great urge to press STOP, go to this page, and join hundreds of other people who felt the same way I did.
The first thing that happened in the movie which seemed suspicious to me was the moment when they discover the holy cross made of gold in some catacombs, enough to say that the catacombs are Mayan. That should have been enough for me to conclude what this movie was all about; but I was tired and stupid - so I continued to watch.
As the movie slowly progresses, you notice the bad acting more and more, the special effects which have nothing really special about them, the plot that is really no more than a debate about "God exists-does not exist" wrapped into a "doomsday" package, and just to be clear - the wrapping is pretty bad. Let's be honest about something, if there was no "god debate", this movie would have been just another of those mediocre films that try to portray the end of the world, and would probably pass much better than it did.
In the end, I decided to give this movie a chance to play to the end; just to see if there is anything worth of watching - the sad thing is - there is not even ONE moment in the WHOLE movie - worth watching.
And as a man before me commented; "...watching this movie to the end will probably give you permanent brain damage." - trust me, he is not far away from truth.
This movie is not even worth the DVD it has been "burned" on, it is not even worth my time writing this comment. Go and look into the Sun, it might give you more pleasure than this lame excuse for a "movie".
