Parasomnia (2008)

Like somebody mentioned before real creep in this movie is this dude kidnapping that girl in semi permanent vegetable state.For god knows what purposes.Nobody is buying for one second the idea "he just wants to help her escape becoming a guinea pig for evil scientists " . I guess writer never intended to make as root for him or if he did he fail. He wakes in the middle of the night with a green faced woman dribbling blood from her mouth all over him and trying to stab him and he never even whimpers. Is he really so collected ?He is kinda frozen not convincing at all .Did director intended him to act that way ? They also could add more scenes of her waking up to life and build up suspension.The way they cut the movie one scene she is sniffing grass and is amazed of ice cream feeling next she is already jumping up and down dressed in cheerleader uniform.Way too rapid.She sure learns fast. Its not a bad movie. I liked it .But the could done a better job if they weren't rushing things

Sauna (2008)

Its about a group of border demarcation team stumbling into some kind of witch black hole kinda village .When they arrive the village is been repopulated only relatively recently by a group of finish refugees .Who tried to get away from raiding marauding Russian cossacks only to get into bigger trouble .Apparently upon arriving to this place they lost their fertility and lots of people chewed out their tongues and scratched their eyes out .There is something roaming the place of such horrendous entity that they prefer to mutilate themselves than face

it .Or the self mutilation is the result of encounter ? Well u never know . There is this creepy whitewashed cube like sauna in the middle of a swamp from which radiates all that creepedom .Your enter in it u are done u are history . Subtlest ermm...they're really annoying!and Finnish language is really creepy to listen to it . I swear they sounded like those things from District 9 movie! Alien.Couldn't they make them speak English? Well its my first Finnish movie and I think it will be last I ever will see. But to be fair I don't think I can be considered a fair judge of this kinda of movies . Thats not my idea of horror I like gore and blood flying all over . People who like ghost ,supernatural horror movies might like I dunno

Eden Lake (2008)

Its kinda hard to make me sympathize for rich yuppie folk traveling around and getting in trouble .This movie pulled it off.They got me to root for Kelly Reilly-Jane and her somewhat clumsy about to propose boyfriend .I've seen like three movies with Kelly Reily before but I didn't recognize her in this one took me a visit to IMDb. Teens depicted are absolutely hate-able.For some reason u hate them more than their over the ocean counterparts Amreican rednecks . I guess its because they more real and less exotic.I mean u can totally encounter those loud obnoxious poms all over the place wearing the exact same outfits and looking exactly the same.

Year One (2009)

OK here I am cozying myself up and watching this movie with my mom.In the first ten or so minutes. Jack Black character says something along the lines of sleeping with his own mother .Awkward . and he cant stop here apparently his sister Juno Temple is also his daughter! Jesus! Do not watch that movie with your mom it gets really awkward. That aside I really like this movie.Some pompous guys complained that characters are too modern to be realistic .I think thats what makes it tick modern style dialogue with animals hives and unruly hair. Another guy were saying he didn't remember a single onliner from the movie.Neither have I .But Sunday at church I got this image stacking in my head Caine doing a poor job killing his suckup brother and nearly giggled. And this High Priest from Sodom was gorgeous . Of course I may be not the best guy to recommend a Comedy . Im more into horror thriller flicks . I give it 8 because I think they could do a better job of cutting and sticking scenes together

Best movie I've seen this year so far

movie ends with woman in her seventies screaming while having orgasm and her son being stabbed by his Chinenese-American female boss while roll playing rape mazo fore-playing . Woman is having sex with her long forloren lover who used to be a doctor in a Nazi extermination camp and she were interned while being abandoned in Paris by her father and step mother . Flashbacks are absolutely amazing .Actors in them speak in french and German unlike in those usual pathetic flicks where bad guys speak with German accented English to make a flick more authentic. if u think its yet another holocaust survivor thingy don't .I've seen quite a few of the kind and I never seen anything like that. Woman got two sons. One working in a shady semi con "model" agency where he gets a cut from fleecing plain average looking females from their money by implying the possibility of them getting jobs as models

Other one is 'live with his parents till his forty' type .He got a good excuse though, he is seemingly talented pianist and composer unable to deal with everyday life .

The borderline conman brother gets conned by dashing new addition to agency.He looses his apartment where shortly before his brother began experimenting with living away from home .

to summarize the movie in one word its Smart .Its Smartly cut .Smartly shot .Smartly written you don't feel for one minute that something is out of place or fake . I watch like 4 to 5 movies a day and a bunch load of TV shows .I know I know sad case .So like I said my brains are conduits to pretty much huge amount of movie stuff .Not that that makes me an expert or anything but I love this movie .
