Film: "The Luckiest Man in America"
🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷 had its moments piglets!
(6/10 me) (6/10 Marilee)
Another one that looked really good. I have to admit, I did not know the true story and the events that surrounded it. Great idea for a movie. Groggins and Hauser were fantastic. I am a huge fan of both of those actors.
It's one of those movies where the audience, at times, cannot tell what is being presented as reality or what is a fantasy in some characters head. It makes it all the more confusing.
We rented it. I suggest you wait till it comes to a streaming outlet to watch it for free.
Just average.

There was a lot of buzz behind this film because of the horrible tragedy involving Alec Baldwin's accidental shooting. I love westerns, so of course I wanted to see this. I was disappointed. It's only a decent story, but the problem is I don't care about any of the characters
A couple of the standout performances include the actor who played the young kid whose name is Lucas, and the actor who played the bounty hunter, whose name was Preacher. Alec was definitely good, and with a better storyline, this would've been a seven. It's the high end of average for me, which is a six.

So much to say about this movie. Incredibly prophetic. As I look at it now in 2025 It was way ahead of its time. The fact that it was filmed 30 years ago, gives it a dated feel. But the feel is the only thing that's dated. Role of a lifetime for Johnathon Rappaport and Omar Epps.
When you think of John Singleton, the world thinks about, "Boyz n da Hood". That was a fantastic movie, but this one was better filmmaking. You know the acting is incredible when you acknowledge to yourself that you're watching a "cliché scene" by today's standards... yet, you're still incredibly moved by what your watching
Wow!
