This movie is about vengance, period.
14 January 2004
There's not much story to this movie so what I am going to say is going to give it away. Day of the Woman (I Spit On Your Grave) has the most horrid acts against a woman I have yet to see filmed. What these four men do to her is evil, poor acting, but horrible. Leaving it up to one to finish her off, the others seem satisfied upon his return and they leave her for dead, but she isn't and she prepares to get revenge... And what they get is what they deserve. The deaths are realistic, the end falls flat but how she did it was realistic to me because of how the characters are. If you are into vengeance movies, this is one to be seen. It honestly made me angry: I felt for her, I wanted her to kill them and no jury in the world could find her guilty.

Good for what it is...

My wife picked this up for me expecting a little more from the cover which looked at first glance to be a rip-off of Harry Potter posters, but I sat through it and it's pretty good for what it is, a low-budget fantasy for kids... Given a magic book from a neighbor who turns out to be a great wizard, Max opens a gateway to another world where he is the only salvation of it's free people. The villians look like Power Ranger baddies and their are voice overs for some odd reason or the sound is simply off track, but if you have a kid and they like fantasy, it's not too violent and sparks the imagination.

HULK SMASH!

The Trial of the Incredible Hulk was the first live-action appearances of Daredevil/Matt Murdock and Kingpin/Wilson Fisk. For a die hard Daredevil fan, it does kinda fall flat but it's a very good attempt for "PG" rated tv. I liked Rex Smith as Daredevil and I would have enjoyed a tv series spin off, which was a possiblity at the time. I even liked the suit BETTER then the new film version! I would believe him to be more ninja like then in shiny leather, sorry... The fighting here wasn't to par with the new flick but his mannerisms give you a since that he does have a bit of struggle as a blind fighter (even if he has gifts). With the new Hulk film on the way it's refeshing to know that all these characters exist in one reality in the comics. It's fun to see them together "In The Flesh". I highly recommend picking up the new 2 disk set, which also features "Return of the Incredible Hulk with a lackluster version of Thor as his partner in heroism.
