Bleach: Burîchu (2018)
Best anime live adaptation.
I admit I watched this movie with some skepticism because live action adaptations of anime tend to either change the entire plot to a point that the movie is awful, don't change the plot enough so the movie is just ridiculous and paced awfully, or just make up stuff completely but give it the anime's title. Also Netflix doesn't seem to have a great track record with live action anime adaptations *cough* Death Note *cough*, This movie however, was the best adaptation I have seen. It followed the source material well and didn't do anything completely outrageous to the main characters. Everything from the acting, the cinematography, fight sequences, and the music were very reminiscent to the anime. I was really impressed and really hope that a sequel is made. If you are a Bleach fan, this movie is definitely for you and absolutely worth a watch.
Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
15-year-old Spider-Man
They decided to make Spider-Man 15. Any problems that you can imagine with the main character being 15, happen in this movie. Not being able to drive, going to the big dance, not embarrassing yourself in front of the girl, exactly what you always wanted out of Spider-Man. If you always dreamed of a child Spider-Man, this movie would be for you. For everyone else that grew up before 2010, this movie is not for you. I don't think anything else needs to be said. With great power comes great responsibility, and this movie is just plain irresponsible.
Star Trek (2009)
Well Done
Like the majority of J.J. Abram's work, this movie showed vast amounts of characterization and thrilling plot twists. Each of the original characters was played beautifully especially Chris Pine's and Zachary Quinto's portrayal of Kirk and Spock. I won't claim to be a huge Star Trek fan, but I can almost guarantee a true fan will not be disappointed. The only set back I felt was the plot, it was good but at points became confusing. In all, I highly recommend this flick to nerds (like myself), J.J. Abrams fans, and anyone else that wants to be entertained and thrilled by a movie. I give this movie a well deserved 7.5 out of 10, LIVE LONG AND PROSPER!
