Rollin' with the Nines (2006)
even just to see Terry Stone ranting!
*** The only "spoiler" introduced below is regarding cars involved in a speed-chase, if you're OK with that, proceed further.
Back to my lead though about this movie – I mean, the way Terry Stone rants is just epic I tell you – this guy does it like no one else, so explosive and yet natural, I've enjoyed every second of his performance, for me it's the best act of a furious, badass copper I've seen ever! Even if the whole lot didn't earn your appreciation, Terry will, hands down.
Another great thing about this movie: aforementioned car chase – all you moto-fans out there – here comes a nice treat – VW Golf VR6 vs Vauxhall (Opel if you like) Omega! This is what I like in UK movies – classic European cars, sharp and realistic chase between those two vehicles, it's great to see neighborhood cars revving their motors out.
Overall, enjoyable movie, maybe a bit OTT but in a good way, so don't give this one a miss.
Oh, and if you want to see more of Terry Stone, be sure to check out "Rise of the Footsoldier", if "Rollin' with the Nines" leaves you hungry for more, believe me – this one will hit the spot big time!
Dear John (2010)
It deserves a review
..and my vote of 10 – you ask why? Simple – this picture moved me, it inducted true emotions and that's what a good movie should be about – touching your soul – it definitely touched mine, almost made me cry and I'm not a softy. I've read a few reviews and part of the audience didn't get the right feel of the chemistry between the lead actors
I don't know, for me it was genuine and realistic, I might be looking at it from a different perspective because I found in Channing Tatum's character many similarities to my own person and situation that I was also faced with so maybe I had a better take on that. But regardless, it's a great movie about love and sacrifices it takes, I will for sure see it again.
Legendary (2010)
What's there NOT to like?
I mean, you got drama with a hint of mystery; you got sport emotions and suspense, you got genuine character development (fair play for young actors here), way above decent cast and that feel-good touch after leaving the theater
but that's just my personal take, as an active combat sports contester I must say that this side of the movie gives you pretty good inside on how it looks like through the eyes of an athlete. It's not another "bullied kid finds his master and kicks ass" movie, it is way beyond that, best to see it for yourself, you can easily take your gf with you and she will love it as well.
To wrap it all up – great movie, great cast, great feeling after – why would you give that a miss?
House M.D.: 5 to 9 (2010)
I've seen this happening before...
..by 'this' I mean the way this season is going. If you recall Ally McBeal, great show by the way, different genre – law, but the principle was the same, a team faced with a task and upon dealing with a particular task we found out more and more about the participants as a whole. In the first four seasons of Ally McBeal it was always the task at hand that pushed the plot forward, then came the last (and in many opinion – the worst) season where the task (if any) was pushed to the background and all the attention was directed to individuals. There was less and less interaction with the others, some characters were gone for a period of few episodes even, just to be back in a form of a guest stars later on
I'm very afraid that it maybe the case here, we already had an episode about Wilson, then Cuddy, not to mention it all started with pilot all about House (which episode I loved, but now I have a perspective). I can't even remember what the last medical mystery was about, in previous seasons I could list them in sequence, that's how important it was. I'm not saying that the show has gone bad, it's still great but something is out of place in my feeling.
House M.D.: The Down Low (2010)
Chase cut his hair!
and that's the most interesting thing about this episode I'm afraid, that and the hilarious impersonation of 24's Jack Bauer by House, you will know once you see it, this is one of those "House moments" that we all know so well. Back to the story, the medical mystery in this episode was a bit confusing and didn't stick out enough to engage my attention, also the paycheck trick pulled on Foreman wasn't convincing enough. Oh, I would almost forgot about one more treat – friendly neighbor Nora in Wilson's new apartment building played by Sasha Alexander – I tell you, this girl is so hot that it's a miracle that the fire sprinkles won't go off, a few nice House – Wilson moments on her account. Altogether rather disenchanting episode for me, Cameron is gone, the Team spirit is disrupted from my perspective, Cuddy didn't even left her office to at least check on House, feels like distorted puzzle but the puzzles pieces are in the wrong spots and some of them are missing, hope that in next episode somebody will put all those pieces back together in good old manner that we are all use to.
House M.D.: Alone (2007)
This is Fun!
I've really enjoyed this episode, especially the House – Wilson exchanges on kidnapping his "12.000$ flying V" guitar, well played. Oh, and the hilarious voices on the other end of the line when House calls one guy back for an interview, this one really cracks me up:) As for the medical stuff – clever indeed, incredible how many things can go wrong if you work under wrong assumptions, also this poor guy that appears to know nothing about his girlfriend, so hard to believe that
well just see for yourself. In addition it reveals one thing about House – he can't enjoy himself without an audience, the team I mean. Well worth watching and a good opener for what yet to come
House M.D.: Under My Skin (2009)
Finally!!!
I was waiting for this to happen when I first saw Cuddy and House together in the very first episode of the first season (I got the box set of seasons 1-4 in Golden Discs in Dublin, Ireland) The tension between those two was building up towards this episode thorough, but nothing gave up the ending until the moment when House, tormented by his delusions, asks Cuddy to help him get through the detox, at this point there was a glimmer of hope that things will turn out this way - House and Cuddy finally getting IT on!!! No need for any graphic details, everybody that fallows greatest show on earth – House M.D. knows what IT means; my reaction to this was so spontaneous, I was like shouting F
YEAH and throwing punches at my boxing bag (I was in the attic where my little gym is :-) , so enthusiastic I was about this
I'm just dying to see what will come out of that in the last episode of this season!
