The Goat Life (2024)
Years in making and this is the result?
When you market the movie stating it took him years to make this film and then you see the result, it was quite disappointing.
The direction was poor for the complex story failing to tell the story visually. The flaws in depicting the heat, the struggle was extremely poor. And if you cannot do CGI correct don't do it. Those vultures looked so fake. The part where kafeel hits him looked so fake. The part where the goat head buts him looked fake.
When it comes to acting, it was average. Not the best. Gokul acting as Hakeem really ruined the movie. His dialogue delivery was way off from other actors, lacking expression and tone of voice. Prithvi tends to overact in certain scenes but was ok. The kafeel acted great.
I felt the creator got overwhelmed by the complexity of the the book and failed to do deliver it. Highly doubt those 16 years went into this and it's just false marketing.
The ending lacked something. Maybe show an expression of relief. It felt they just wanted to end the shoot and leave.
Overall I enjoyed the movie for what it is. The music, the story, some of the cinematography was beautiful.
Mimi (2021)
The performance of the two Americans and the kid was annoying
I enjoyed this movie. But few things bothered me. The kids voice was dubbed and wasn't arranged well and that bothered me. The acting of the two Americans wasn't great either especially when Summer speaks in Hindi she is just blank from expression and looked really awful and fake.
Some of the drama was way too much and unnecessary killing the flow of the movie
Besides that everyone else acted absolutely brilliant and it was entertaining. A good movie after a long time from Indian cinema.
Stowaway (2021)
What?
Where is this movie heading to? How do these people end up getting oppurtunity to make such movies?
By far the dumbest movie ive seen in 2021.
99 Songs (2019)
Loses the flow. But a great attempt
I enjoyed this movie for 2 things. Lovely cinematography and music.
I hated the direction. It felt like he doesn't know how to get it done right. The editing was awful as well. Some things felt out of place.
Some of the actors were good but I wouldn't say brilliant. But the girls father (Ranjith) was the worst of all.
I'm not saying this is a bad movie. But these bits really irritated me that being a die hard fan of a r rahman it didn't turn out how I wish it should've turned out.
Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
Felt like it was made for the sake of it
Terrible script. It all felt like they took the script of terminator 2 made some changes here and there. The acting was terrible almost of everyone. The dialogue was poor. I just gave 5 out of 10 just because of Arnold.
Slumdog Millionaire (2008)
Dosage of goosebumps from the slums
The reason, I got the hype for this movie in the first place is because of the man who composed the soundtrack, A.R. Rahman. But yet after viewing the things took beyond from where my hype began. From the story line, the script, choreography, screenplay to the way the music was arranged. Everything was flawless. What more amazed me where the young Jamal and Salim characters, those kids acted well and gave the natural Indian child feel from the slums. Danny, made sure even the small characters performed well and I was pretty amazed to see Anil Kapoor's acting as the host show for the Who Wants to be a millionaire in the movie. In the whole the movie is touching, inspiring and romantic. A must watch for every one - families, couples, etc. A movie with no flaw and an entertainer from the start till end, I give it a 10 on 10!
