The Naked Cosmos (2005)
VERY Good!
Wow! You can't be looking for a Hollywood film with this title. It's more like late-night TV from some really weird old UHF station. Gilbert Hernandez plays "Quintas," a guy who is like some old time monster movie show host - if you remember those. Elvira was like one of those hosts, and lots of places had them.
The film is cheaply made, but it's pretty funny if you're a fan of totally weird film experiences. If you like strange films and experiences in front of the tube that really make you wonder - and laugh while you do it - then this one is for you! I am totally fascinated with it - Quintas and his friend "Zansky" show these really short microfilms about one minute long - completely surreal! Then there is all the action with Quintas and his clone/brother Kalisto, who is like the evil scientist version of Quintas - who is kind of new-agey and mystical.
I say watch it and go with the flow - don't be afraid of something that is unusual. Watch it late at night with friends the way you'd watch an old horror film from the 1950s or a Godzilla movie.
And by the way - the fight scene is really funny at the end. Don't miss that part!
