There isn't a more fulfilling time travel story
This show was so well written and so well produced. Its flawless. It takes you on a journey and creates the tension that keeps you hooked. It's stressful at times and it's magical at times. And the ending is perfection. The story has so many ups and downs that you keep guessing what could happen, and most probably are wrong. There are so many unpredictable outcomes. The actors and production team have done phenomenal job in recreating time and the vibe of the people in different times. Incredible show.
The only other show I can think of that is this perfect is sisyphus (Korean). Highly recommend.
Indian Matchmaking (2020)
It's so bad it's good
The reality of supposedly strong independent women not being able to be humble and hiring an arranged marriage matchmaker to find them a partner while being so dismissive and incapable of joy is priceless. At a time where women are staying unmarried for much longer than ever before this show is brutally honest about how the traditional ideologies of marriage and companionship just simply don't stand a chance with today's 30 some.
It's incredible to see some people who are so shallow they have no self awareness of how hurtful and inconsiderate they are of other peoples feelings.
There are some rays of hope such as Rinkle and Arshneel who bring positivity to the way they approach matchmaking and seem like they might work out.
Darlings (2022)
Misleading previews
The previews and placement of this movie made it look like it was going to be a light watch maybe even a comedy. But the tone of the previews were completely misleading. The movie is slow, violent and disturbing. Definitely not entertaining. Vijay Verma has done a great job playing the villain though.
Alia Bhatt is the usual, decent actor. Script is a bit weak and unnecessarily stretched to fill the time.
The stories of women oppression are getting exhausting and overdone. In this case for example Alia bhatt marries this man by her own choosing. So she wasn't forced, she just had bad taste in men. So she ends up with a narcissistic oppressive alcoholic and she doesn't know how to escape domestic violence even thought she has a supportive mother.
Wedding Season (2022)
Hating your parents is not cool anymore
This whole idea of ABCDs not being able to manage parents expectations about getting married and just having an unmanaged bottled up bitterness is getting really old. Russel peters used to make these jokes 20 yrs ago and it was new to see how much ABCDs hated and mocked their parents, but this is just starting to sound really spiteful. And audience can tell when something is made out of fun and when something is made out of spite.
30 plus age people with supposedly good careers not being able to have clear conversations with their parents just makes them look really immature. Specially while indians from india are able to talk to their parents, marry who they want, move to another country and be founders and CEOs. When we work with indians from india they seem to have their life in order and they're respectful and close to their parents. Indians don't talk the way this kind of movies portray. It's disappointing to see that Netflix is funding such self-loathing crap.
Eternally Confused and Eager for Love (2022)
Who lives with their parents at 25!?
In india, people go to school and start working at 21 and definitely move out. Who lives with his parents at 25 and his parents treat him like a 16yr old. I have seen 16 year old having their life together more than this guy.
Also seems like they wanted to make Wiz an animated character but didn't get the budget so they just keep showing us this stupid little keychain.
OK Computer (2021)
Too experimental for Indian audiences
Seems to be a funny interpretation of Tales from the Loop, this show is quite funny and interesting. There's rarely any sci-fi in india since its a rom-com only audience. But this was quite beautiful in its buildup of characters, great actors and well written dialogues.
Tusk (2014)
Stupid
So why didnt he just call the police? Why didnt the emergency response use phone location? Why didnt they rehabilitate him in the end?
Maybe if it were made as a period movie it could pass though only by a small margin but seriously so stupid.
A Star Is Born (2018)
So emotional and gripping
Even though i knew the story, the movie didnt lose my attention for one minute. Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper were phenomenal actors. I had to check to realize Bradley sang this well. Absolute masterpiece!
