A Little unknown film, destined to be a classic
10 December 2003
I was lucky that I had sister who read the book and bought the Video when if came out at Barnes Nobles. This movie never received any publicity that I'm aware of. I know it's based on a true story about a boy growing up in a small town near me. It's amazing how even living 15 miles away, I never heard of the movie. Anyway to get back to the movie, the only thing I saw wrong was some of piano music in the beginning was a little bit hokey. The movie will remind you a lot of "Stand by Me". The actors, who for the most part are little know, deliver great performances. This is low budget film like "Breaking Away was". It will steal your heart and give older parents fond Christmas memories. The movie leaves you to wonder what happened to the little boy named "Whitey".

THE ABSOLUTE WORST MOVIE OF 2003
29 November 2003
No plot, just the F word used over and over and over. Billy Bob's name sure did fit the movie appropriately. There was definitely no acting in this movie. This movie gets my nomination for worst of movie of 2003 and perhaps the century. Don't waste your time on it in the theatre or as a rental.

Lot's of Laughs
5 September 2003
Great David Spade movie with plenty of sarcasm. My 11 year old son and I laughed our ***** off. Good story line about what is important in life and the tragedy of child actors. Make sure you stay and see all yesterday's actors and actresses doing their spoof on the song "We are the World".

Great Movie!
19 August 2003
This is by far the best movie I have seen all year and I've seen a lot of them. I had all but given up hope on seeing a great movie this summer. This was a very pleasant surprise and is destined to be a western classic. Duvall and Costner make a great team. Definitely a tastefully done western. I was told not to take girl to see it, but now I regret that I didn't. Open Range is well worth the price of admission.
