Match Game 73 (1973)
The Funniest Game Show
I am a big fan of Game Show oldies and when Game Show Network brought back the classics, it was such a relief to see that Match Game was one of them. Once you hear the comical intro and theme song, be ready for tons of laughs and wise cracks. From the dazzling and farce celebrity panelist to the wacky and crude sentence fragments, match game is certainly a game show that makes you laugh out loud. The host of it all, the late Gene Rayburn really knew how to work the crowd and made sure that they never left without a laugh, no one else could of done the same.
It was also so funny to see the comedic duo, Brett Somers and Charles Nelson Reilly bickering and making a mockery of each other's answers. The chemistry between them always grew into a slapstick parody of some sort that never made a dull or boring moment on Match Game. Even when Brett wins the "Pathetic Answer Award" from Charles, the two will always be a unique caricture of the show and will always remain one of a kind. For lots of laughs this would be the one show to see, Don't miss out.
The Real World Movie: The Lost Season (2002)
OKAY
From the weird characters to their estranged roles, this movie gives a new meaning to "Real Weird" I was expecting the movie to be somewhat of a scary thriller but my toughts afterwards are contrary. MTV made such a big deal about the lost season through commercials, I'm disappointed that the commercial's intensions wasn't even relevant to the story line. I mean, the reason why this movie is such an upset to some viewers is probably because MTV wasted all there money on it's crummy commercials. Yes, it all starts out as a usual MTV Real World episode, where everyone is arriving and introducing themselves then they are invited to a real world challenge, get kidnapped by some lunatic and get "real" tortured in somekind of a jailhouse. By the way, if you were paying attention, the people that arrived together in groups of two like Cash and Melinda, Liz and Keith, Omara and Adam all had somekind of love connection... and then you have your categorized, spiritual, on-the-side person- Boomer. The only thing good about this movie is the suspenseful plot, storyline and the acting. Now they were going to far when they totally copied the Blair Witch Project with the Running through the woods scene with the creepy old house, and not to forget the cheesy disclaimers that it was deemed "lost footage" and such nonsense. If you possibly have nothing else better to do,it's late at night and there is nothing to watch then by all means watch this. I recommend it only if you have the time.
The Haunted (1991)
Somewhat okay
This movie is one of a kind if you say, but it really makes you think. I saw this movie when i was about 13 years old and i think that it's a scary movie. The Smurls think that all their troubles are over after holding prayers and moving away, but they are still plagued by the demons, hence the title "The Haunted". I recommend you to watch if you have the time or if it pops up on TV and have nothing else to do. I do recall that the scariest part to me was "Janet, Janet".... if you have seen this movie then you know what i mean.
The Entity (1982)
Don't miss it
For those who haven't seen this movie, please stop reading and dont go any further, this is a warning... This movie is truely one of a kind. Seeing this movie I was about 13 years old and i was scared. Unlike other horror films the ghost usually vanishes and there you go, a happy ever after. But after relentless tries of ridding the ghost it always comes back and thats the scary part of it. What also adds a tingle to your bones are the drum's beats that ramble whenever it attacks. Barbara Hershey is a talented and unique actress and i urge you to see this movie and you will know what i mean.
The Amityville Horror (1979)
This movie is okay
Although there are those stating that this is a bad and horrible movie, your forgetting that it was made in the 1970's. The storyline is okay, and it is a great movie to see. I loved it because it terrified me but there should be no reason to belittle it. Everything in general is in fact neutral and rather good for it's time period. James Brolin and Margot Kidder are good actors and there were a few scary moments like the screeching of the demon's voice when the priest was trying to bless the room and when that psychic lady's voice turned into a demonic tone when they were in the basement. I recommend you to see this movie only if you have the time so you can see the storyline and plot.
Saved by the Bell (1989)
One of a kind
Although this show seems like the story line is impossible to compare to real life high school, it is truly one of a kind. I have not seen yet an episode that was utterly boring, it always had some kind of a moral to it. The plots though, are interesting and sometimes out of hand but i guess if thats what it takes for us to sit down and watch, then so be it. I love it and i continue to watch the reruns.
