Family for Christmas (2015)
Hallmark Original? NOT!
Blatant rewrite of Family Man (2000) starring Nicholas Cage, with a gender flip. If you've seen one....
Hawaii Five-0: Lele pu na manu like (2018)
Why the Hate-On for Lou?
I might be out in left field all by myself but, I think Chi McBride is one of the best actors on the show. The man has depth.
Maybe you are complaining about his story line that he is fed? But the actor himself is terrific. No, this isn't his mother!
I have lived the older brother squabble. He nailed it.
As for the crime they investigated? I would think that the guy who stole the card would be up for multiple charges besides 'theft over'. What about 'negligent homicide'? That part of the show was the weakest for me.
Glad to see that the restaurant is (hopefully) going to be over and done with.
Magnum P.I. (2018)
Can be better- and let's hope it will be
I love the original show. But, this is not the original. There I said it. It seems there are plenty of haters (or are they 'raters' ?) of this show that would rather see good old Tom Selleck back in the role he created so well, so many years ago.
I, for one, would not want to see Mr Selleck on the beach wearing his short-shorts today! What I would have rather seen was a new show that continues from where the old show left off. Thomas Magnum is an aged Private Eye (Investigator!) that has inherited money after Robin Masters 'wrote his last novel' as a thank you from the novelist. But alas, some key characters have passed and others have aged, making the chances of a long running show a pretty bad bet to make.
As it is with the remake, I personally think they should do away with the CGI. It is irritating and distracting. They did a good job with making the 'Estate' look quite grand considering its' ACTUAL location but, the chase scene along the coast was terrible! There is nowhere on O'ahu with cliff so close to the ocean!
In the first few minutes (AFTER the god-awful CGI opening scene) when the new Thomas is rowing and doing his 'voice over' and there was a "I know what you're thinking" moment - I had hope that it would be a good show. I will need to see a couple more episodes before I pass on it entirely. I would prefer a Higgins that was more like John Hillerman's portrayal but I can forgive the PC world having made Higgy-baby a female. Just so long as there is never any sexual tension between her and Thomas.
Finger's crossed for less CGI and more depth to the characters.

The Byrds of Paradise (1994)
Very Good actors on a Very Good show.
I think I started watching this show because Timothy Busfield was in another show I enjoyed (30 something) His character is much less whiny in this show. To this day (2016) every time I see Seth Green in a movie I ask if people remember him from this show. To this day, I haven't found anyone else that does.
Jennifer Love Hewitt. What else can I say. A talented beautiful actress. She got my attention and is a name to remember!
Being set in Hawai'i was something different than the average show. Something beautiful to look at besides the regular LA fare (BH90210?)
I guess including a somewhat authentic feel of life in Hawai'i was too foreign for most viewers and it didn't catch on. Add my vote for seeing this series being made available for download or on a DVD !
The Six Million Dollar Man (1974)
Did anyone else wonder about this??
One thing that my sister pointed out to me at the time (she is a few years older than I) is "If Steve Austin only has one bionic arm, why doesn't he rip his other arm off whenever he breaks out of handcuffs?" It seems obvious now as an adult but, they managed to slip that one past this eight year old kid!
Oh and who didn't want to be Steve Austin/ Lee Majors back then? Jamie Sommers on screen (I had a major crush) and Farrah Fawcett at home! What a lucky guy! And whose idea was it to give Farrah's character on the show a name like Major Kelly Wood- major wood- I am sure!
My favourite episodes have to be any with Jamie Sommers. It was even better when she got her own spin-off show. Also the few show with Andre the Giant. The ones that freaked me out as a kid was with John Saxon's character Major Frederick Sloan as a robot and his face falls off!
We never missed an episode! I would love to see these in re-runs. Is there any talk of getting this show back on the air?
