Bloat (2025)
I guess I like what everyone doesn't!
I enjoyed this movie because I also enjoyed its older sister movies: Found & Searching? Whatever they were called. I guess the POV is from the father & what he's searching / doing on his laptop & you get to see that more than the father's expression reading the article. So you see him searching these haunted webpages but ultimately you don't see his expression, so you don't know if he believes in it until he speaks to someone else regarding it.
I enjoyed the cast of characters, the acting is a lil cheesy, esp on the sons. The mom is playing a typical suburban cloud in the heads mom & if the father was there they'd prob be arguing over what the father believes to be true vs the mom's denial. It's crazy to see the dad's POV, how he is not there but he knows something's going on.
Idk I liked this movie, I liked the other two movies that took its format. So despite the other bad reviews, I hope they continue making movies like this! At the end you just want to buy a Apple laptop too 😉 good promotion lol.
The Traitors (2023)
THIS IS WHY I WANT CELEBS & 0BSESSED WIT THIS SHOW!
Everyone's comments is saying how putting celebrities on this show is not as fun, where I think it ls the opposite. It makes it EVEN MORE FUN knowing the cast, knowing how their personalities are (everyone's gonna remember Tom Sandoval saying he was "great at this game" vs. Brand new never knew Joe from nowhere city)
Plus they're civilians coming into the show, and they'll end up becoming reality celebrities in their own merit. Then if they end up playing another reality game, everyone will say "it's
Not as fun wit Joe bc he's a celeb" when he was a "civilian" coming onto the show. The show's "celebs" come from Big Brother, Survivor, etc. They are technically civilians before they came onto these reality shows. Lol it's not like Brad Pitts playing, it's "reality celebrities" coming onto the show. So I def prefer having "celebs" come onto the show, at least you know them / their personalities & usually what'll come with having them on.
I prefer that but I get that's my opinion - and some of the season 3 celebs I don't even know where they were plucked from like Trishelle , Ivar etc. So they still have some not really known celebs on . Consider those as "civilians" lol
SEASON 3 TRAITORS ARE THE WORSE!!!
No one could guess who the traitors were & that's why it has to be traitor vs traitor to get them out. It's silly. Least past 2 seasons, they could sniff out who was & who wasn't.
Earth Abides: Forever Is Tomorrow Is Today (2024)
How would there be a season 2?
I've been seeing this show keep pop up each week a new episode was released... didn't really give it any thought. Then yesterday, I really had no idea what to watch, so I said what the hey... watched the trailer, (gave a lot away, that they didn't have to)
I binged it in 1 day. I feel like episode 6 pretty much tied up everything for ish & doesn't he get super old and pass? Lol so how would there be a season 2... maybe if they stopped aging him so much bc he still looks maybe 30-35 the most,
Not not 22 yrs later. Lol. The wife looks like she ages a lil. But not Ludwig. Lol if they ended with them starting to work on Joeys name (which btw I thought it was a girl name Joy, when we first met the baby. I thought Ludwig said "joys gonna bring so much joy into our world". I guess he said Joey. Anywayyyyy* if they left it off on them trying to work on Joey's plan, season 2
But it seemed like the last episode wrapped it up quite tightly. Unless I need to go rewatch the last episode, bc I thought it was him getting to year 50
& making seem like he was gonna pass.
They shoulda have left it end when he was done radioing that station , bc I can't imagine how'd a season 2 would be. Start with him at 78 yrs old? Or be all about the past & how they linked with more people since he finally accepted they had to.
Was def surprise how quick the show went in time (unless it was a 1 time mini season thing) bc they coulda had more episodes w/Charlie being more menacing, more episodes of what he did to Emma until people finally caught him, etc. They definitely could have made more episodes if it was a miniseries instead of just six episodes. I guess I hope there's a season two.
Bad Genius (2024)
Really good! Wish more detail into her life! (Move me to the top.!!!)
My review should be at the top! As a Chinese American 1st gen. I related a lot. Stern father who made me so hw as soon as I am home. So it is very relatable to Chinese 1st gen girls.
Excellent movie!!
It was good !! I liked it a lot! I am a 1st Gen Chinese American girl in NY & my immigrant Chinese father def drilled college into my life.
So I related to the relationship between her & her father, it reminded me of my father and I.
I thought it was an original story line but I found out it was a remake. For the American version, it woulda been more up to date if it was like a test required to like live or a test to get into this like elite only one like this type of college. (Even magic lol). If the SATs were still important...but I guess even if it's not that big of a deal to colleges, I'm sure it's a big deal to some old school parents / care about ur education parents.
But what am I saying! I enjoyed this movie, I think the plot is original (even if this pertains to the original) - I loved the actors (esp Benedict Wong <3 ) & the actress is a stand out .. looks like a promising young addition to the "Asian Actresses" in the Hollywood community. Love that she speaks Canto.. can see her in future romcom movies & graduating to action films.
The other teen actors/actresses fit your stereotypical hs ppl, actors can be interchangeable ,
Where unless this replace the whole race of the character is harder to change / stand out?
We need more Asian centric movies!!
Goosebumps (2023)
Giddaou giddakay?
Loved this remake, I'm a millennium so the small throw backs def cause some nostalgia! Just like the "giddagoo giddakay" ? (You okay?) I remember that was the "secret (not so secret) language" as a kid. So small things like that made it cute for nostalgia. I liked the back story of Slappy. I don't remember if there ever was an origin story to Slappy in the books, or they created it for the story. I hope they don't ruin season 2 by basically repeating season 1 (it left off with Slappy possessing Justin Long).
I liked how each episode was based on a diff book with an overall common thing also happening during the same time. They started off with the best/most infamous books. Excited to see what books they'll touch on in season 2!
