Isla Alien (2023)
2/10
Starts out strong then goes to the drain
15 January 2024
As brentsbulletinboard reviewed quite thoroughly, the movie starts out quite strong and seemingly unbiased, until after the mid-point, which then it starts taking biased turns, underplaying a lot of statements and seriously emphasizing others whilst seemingly forgetting much of what has already been exposed. Most of its theatrical value also goes down the drain. They never delve into people trying to get there or investigations that might have tryied to happen on-local. They start shoving the idea that it was all a plot of the government whilst doing exactly what they criticized - a lot of conjectures and projections on what really happened because it fits the context. And its quite sad that this director really didnt care at all abount being subtle of his completely biased view on all that has transpired, to the point it becomes a mockery of the whole UFO phenomena by the end, with really cheap emotional shots of how all these people are sad that their families dissappeared during the Pinochet era and its "because of people like Ernesto" who "create elegant fake stories of aliens" in order to favor the government.

Quite sad how dissappointing, biased and underdeveloped this terrible work turned out to be.
