When a show or episode is good it should be praised, and when it is terrible it should be called out. It seems like in the last few episodes, the writers have decided to make the show worse. If the writers don't care about the characters or value them or hold the show to high standards, it will have an impact.
An April fools episode or a comedy episode could have been made much better. It is sad for those of us who have watched this series and liked it. What a fall from grace for Nathan Fillion from Firefly fame, and the manipulation of the characters of Chen and Tim, it hurts the show. This was difficult to watch.

So many people give this series a bad review because it does not follow the books. That makes no sense at all - if you love the books so much go to a book review site and have your say and make your peace. This is inspired by the books but is not bound by its truth.
This is a TV show - which puts the script, characters, music, cinematography etc. First, adapted to what the creators of this TV show wanted for episodic television and they have done a brilliant job of it. So I think the book lovers need to grow up and stop whining and taking their disappointment out on this brilliant show. If you love the books so much then celebrate that art, without demeaning another. This is excellent TV, with each season being better than the last. I really hope it continues.

How does this show have a relatively low rating (of 7.2), along with some terrible reviews, while much trashier shows, with much worse scripts and acting have such great ratings?
I mean Killjoys does not pretend to be a high-production quality sci-fi like say TNG, but it has its own more carefree, free-spirited sci-fi drama vibe - which is so rare to get right. I think this show is underrated.
In our times when everything has to be great, excellent, the best of the best, this show celebrates the virtue of being "good". It has its own charm - of not over-indulging, not going too crazy on storytelling or visual effects. Instead just enjoy 45 minutes of good, classic, free-spirited adventure and drama that has character, charm, a great cast, and have a great time watching good science fiction. That's what KillJoys delivers in spades.
