My Three Sons: The Homecoming (1967)
Season 8, Episode 6
So much has changed
17 January 2024
This reminds me of the days when couples dated, proposed and marry and then move in together. One would have to wonder why they didn't stay engaged for at least a year before getting married. This way, you would know each other better.

Not Robbie and Katie. Married quick and get home from the honeymoon with20 questions about their trip and stay, like the golf course, tennis, weather... And they are a bit clueless because finally Steve figures out why they didn't enjoy the resort's amenities, and stops the rest from asking any more questions. (Maybe why they had triplets...).

And now, in their haste to get married, and now home (using Robbie's room) at the Douglas residence, a female in the house of all males is a new phase. Robbie is finding out how sensitive Katie is to criticism (unknown to him doing it), and every time she runs off to the bedroom crying. Each time Steve has his sit down dad talk and everything is just fine. Every time.

I'm not sure but I think this is where the show gets boring and lost its theme. After this, the show is either about Robbie/Katie or Ernie.

My Three Sons: Help the Gypsies Are Coming! (1967)

Gypsies, no Tramp (the dog), but thieves?
1 January 2024
Wow....definitely a stereotyped show. Gypsies in Bryant Park, wagons, horses, campfires and all. Then camp out with everything in a residential neighborhood? Enrolling Lazlo (the Gipsy son who's Ernie's age) in the public school with no permanent address, probably unvaccinated, etc.... But, don't forget, Gypsies are thieves. And they actually do steal (assumed) from the Douglas family. Even though they returned what was "stolen", Uncle Charlie is the bad guy for assuming they did by calling the police (I would have. ) and Steve is apologizing.

Doesn't make sense.

Remember the song by Cher? Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves? Describes this episode.

Dragnet 1967: The Prophet (1968)

The Debate Team
1 January 2024
1968 debate. Police VS. Timothy Leary. Topic: Drugs.

One of the most boring episodes with the pros and cons of drug use from both sides.

But in 1968,compared to today, they didn't know all about LSD and the effects. So I can see why they would have a debate episode back then.

I would think that the police had better things to do. I don't believe this is what the captain wanted from them when they visited the dealer. A debate lasting almost a half hour with zero results. Once they were invited inside, they didn't have a warrant but, if anything illegal was in plain sight...they could make an arrest. But that never happened.

The end of the show, cops break the law by littering.

You could have a drinking game with this show.... Spot anything orange, your friends have to do a shot.

Toon in with Me (2021– )
MeTv doesn't care.
22 December 2023
Seems like MeTv doesn't care about what people think about this show. It's still the same idiotic skits by Peter Pan and adults that can't act. 84 reviews and they obviously didn't read any of them complaining about this. Even with the pandemic, they would have time to figure out that the people want cartoons, history behind them, and everything that every review has stated... Get rid of the D list actors. Get rid of the stupid skits. Get rid of Tooney,, Bill's sarcastic "sock puppet". If this is supposed to be a "morning cartoon show", then they need to show them, and not think.

Grow up, Bill. Stop looking like you are homeless. Wear some decent clothes.

Curators don't wear dirty jeans and t-shirts.

Dragnet 1967: The Bank Jobs (1967)
Season 2, Episode 4
Bill Gannon
21 December 2023
I thought a review was a person's opinion on how they liked/disliked a show, not to tell people every detail of it from start to finish... Including spoilers. That's not a review.

I've watched almost every episode. Each one you can be grossed out by Gannon's liverwurst and onion, pickle, horseradish and peanut butter on garlic bread sandwiches... even Friday rolls his eyes. At the beginning of this episode, you watch him put 6 cubes of sugar (96 calories! 2 tablespoons! Want some coffee with that?) into his cup.

If it weren't for him, this show would have been a very boring cop show. Harry Morgan (Future Col. Potter/M*A*S*H) is awesome as Friday's comedic half.

I guess they weren't too worried about diabetes and halitosis..... Neither one seems to walk like normal people. Arms to the side, very robotic.

It's what makes it so nostalgic.

Dragnet 1967: The Bullet (1967)
Season 1, Episode 17
Slow Detective Work
19 December 2023
Must be before they created CSI, even though it's been around since the early 1900s.

Assuming it's a suicide, even after finding different caliber shell casings. EMT's only check for vital signs, declared him DOA. Everyone is walking all over the crime scene, touching everything.

Once they figured out it's a homicide and investigate the wife and her mother, there should have been a search warrant issued and the entire house searched. Instead, they bring in a CSI who's clueless about the crime other than the 2 bullet casings.

Dragnet is half cop show, half documentary, the way Friday goes on his "let me educate you" rants. And Friday and Gannon are the only 2 people I've seen that walk like stiff boards. Too much starch in the underwear. Talk so fast, closed captioning can't keep up (Oh, that wasn't invented yet).

Still, I love the show cause I love being grossed out by Gannon's liverwurst and onion with mustard, pickles, peanut butter on garlic bread..... Friday, you don't know what you are missing....(yes, he does.)

Switch (I) (2023– )
Bit difficult for 10k.
14 December 2023
Like all the new and original games created for the GSN, this one also has a difficult bonus round. Questions start out easy but get harder as the contestant progresses...miss one and they go back (if they reach #3, miss a question, they should be able to stay there.) I've seen some get to #4 and end up back at #1. All that just for 10k?

It's the only one I like that doesn't really care who the contestants are. Most gameshows take time out to get to know them better... waste of time. In 20 minutes you won't remember or really care. Especially when there's more than 3. All we really need is "What's your name and where are you from?"...."Let's play the game".

Split Second (2023– )
8/10
Bonus Round
4 December 2023
Have to agree with others about the Bonus Round. I've watched people win, but with very little time to spare. John Michael Higgins reads too slow, and same when it's answered wrong. Instead of "wrong, it's... ______." That part needs work. It's also a good thing to be smart and correctly answer the questions, and the bonus round can be won in 60 seconds.

Fun game show, and so is JMH, who's a veteran host of shows and movies.

It's like any trivia game, but to answer the easy ones you better hit that signaling device within a Split Second! And it seems like all the game shows top money prize is capped at $10k....this and a few others are brand new on GSN, and it's nice that the new seasons have started after all the writer's/actor's strikes....

Michigan J. Dog?
2 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Seems they watched WB a year before about a singing frog...that would stop when other people are around making the new owner look crazy.

Basically the same story. Except with a dog but it talks and the greed sets in for everyone involved.

Also the usual story of a married couple...a dominant, obese wife and wimpy, bald husband that is too stupid to know better and scared of his wife cause he knows she will not be arrested for domestic violence.

If this was done today, probably be in court getting sued for plagiarism.

Of course this was back in the 50s when cartoons were at theaters and not Saturday mornings on TV.
