The Simpsons: Cremains of the Day (2024)
Average for modern Simpsons (but still great!)
I really wasn't expecting a death this season. But if they feel like killing off a character, may as well be a character that few people know about and isn't very major.
First of all, I'm never really a fan when they randomly put in a song about the subject. Typically it just doesn't work out very well. But the animation they did during the song was gorgeous.
I loved the scene where they were fighting in the hotel room as to where Larry is now. I loved all their ideas (But I was NOT expecting Homer to take the religious route!) and I love Moes reaction to the gems in the urn and everyone's reaction to finding out they were there!
I really wasn't expecting the trooper to arrest all four of them, and he just shoved him in the trunk (that was actually in the front!) and I also really wasn't expecting him to be affiliated with the Mafia.
Larry "saving" Homer shocked me! And where the waterfall actually was made me happy because everyone could connect at their favorite place.
I guess it's just your typical modern Simpsons episode. Not one of the best episodes of all time, but like most Simpsons episodes, they are solid.
The Simpsons: Murder, She Boat (2023)
Well...
I suppose I would call this your standard modern day Simpsons episode. It's exploring something new, keeping up with modern day trends, and diving into characters more. There's nothing really special about this episode, I suppose it was average for modern Simpsons. However, I still believe that the episode was good. It was a memorable episode and I liked the mystery segment and how Bart showed that he was innocent. I didn't expect a new friend to be the culprit, and I was quite surprised when that was revealed. This episode certainly reminds me of the "Who shot mister burns" episodes that aired years ago, and I feel like this episode would be better as a two parter. Anyways, it's just an average modern Simpsons episode, but as most modern Simpsons episodes are, I find myself enjoying them.
The Simpsons: AE Bonny Romance (2023)
Woah! That was unexpected.
This episode was AMAZING. The other reviews on here so far are saying the episode sucked, but I'm writing this right after the episode aired so I bet it's just people hating on modern Simpsons for no reason. Not cool! Anyways, this episode might be the best in the season. This episode was funny, relatable, and the setting was GORGEOUS. I loved that Bart became friends with an unlikely person and that they begin bonding. I thought the scene where the kids are on nicotine patches accidentally was HILARIOUS. I loved that there wasn't really a B-plot, although you could consider the short segment of Lisa at the festival as one. I loved how Bart revealing to the audience that Willie's spouse didn't really love him, and the scene at the end with Marge and Homer running towards each other as the sun set behind them is great! Gotta tell you, even if you arn't a big fan of modern Simpsons episodes, YOU NEED TO WATCH THIS! I wouldn't say it's within my top ten Simpsons episodes of all time, nor my top 50,but still this episode was very very good! I am impressed! Well done!
The Simpsons: Midnight Towboy (2007)
Lovely
I loved this episode. I liked that Homer explored yet another job and I loved how quickly the people of Springfield went from loving Homer and his new job to despising him. I laughed out loud quite a few times in this episode. I liked the plot to destroy Homer and his career and the scenes where he was trapped in the basement with other former truck drivers. And the B-plot was also good. I liked the hippie helping Marge and even though it didn't entirely turn out as Marge had hoped the ending scene had made it all better for her! I loved the scene where Maggie is traveling to save Homer! This episode was certainly very good and I was definitely recommend it!
The Simpsons: Fat Man and Little Boy (2004)
Very very good
I thought this episode was great. The opening scene was hilarious and I loved Bart making a t-shirt empire (only for it to fall very very quickly) and I liked Homer finally bonding with Lisa. It's relitavely rare to see Homer bond with her, and this episode did great on it. I loved the scene with Homer trying to get the nuclear parts and the scene where Homer holds Lisa while chasing Ned. And Lisa was loving it! I was surprised to see that. And the scene where the nuclear reactor is brought into the store is awesome. I was wondering why the store owner was insane as well and we also found that out in that scene! I highly recommend this episode!
The Simpsons: Marge Gamer (2007)
One of the most underrated Simpsons episode there is.
A lot of people seem to overlook the middle era of the Simpsons, and it is commonly said that classic Simpsons is great and after season 9 it all went downhill. Honestly we really should give the middle seasons some love as in my opinion it has some of the best episodes in the show and the animation is amazing. But, to continue about the episode. I loved that Marge tried to form a bond with her son on the computer game. And the reaction to Marge not having an email address was HILARIOUS. And I really liked the B-plot as well with Homer being involved in Lisa's soccer game, but I must say that although it was good it was certainly not as memorable as the main storyline. And I LOVED the BBC documentary spoof at the end, and unlike a lot of episodes the ending did not seem like filler. Not the best episode ever, but certainly within my top 50 best Simpsons episodes...
The Simpsons: McMansion & Wife (2023)
Very good and memorable.
I didn't expect one of the first episodes of the new season to really stick with me. But here I am, and I am very happy with this episode. The animators did an amazing job here. It is like the one episode where the former president moves nearby, but with a twist. The B-plot is good however It did feel a little bit out of place. But I loved the revenge that was done against Nelson in it, however. The ending segment about the future of the house and it becoming a museum though I was not a fan of, and it's another one of those ending segments that feels like filler, which unfortunately happens a lot nowadays. It is a very good episode though and if you are not sure if you like modern Simpsons or not this is a good episode to try.
The Simpsons: Thirst Trap: A Corporate Love Story (2023)
Good but does have some issues
I have mixed thoughts on this episode. I like that the makers of the show are experimenting with new themes. I thought it was fun to do the documentary spoof about an Elizabeth Holmes-type character. It was quite good I would say but I was not a fan of the relationship of Burns and Percephonie and there were little things here and there that I was not a fan of. But I liked the big reveal that the whole LifeBoat thing is a fraud, but I would think that more Springfield residents would be suspicious that is a fraud, for example Professer Frink, the chief engineer, wasn't allowed to look in the machine that was being sold. Or Springfield residents are more dumb than I thought... But it was a good episode overall and it is worth a watch.
The Simpsons: It's a Blunderful Life (2023)
A good thanksgiving special
I was very excited to watch this episode and my expectations were high. I am glad to say that I really liked this episode. It had some good jokes. I was not big about the segments set 60 years in the future, as it felt like filler. They were a bit odd at times and I wasn't very pleased with the writing then. The sequence with Mr burns singing with people was very good. Typically I am not a fan of songs being sung in the Simpsons as it makes me feel a bit uneasy, but I quite liked this although it was a bit too long for my liking. Honestly this is a very good episode even though it has some flaws.
The Simpsons: Homer's Adventures Through the Windshield Glass (2023)
Certainly one of the more awful episodes I've seen
I was very excited for this season finale. I was expecting something great and memorable. However, this episode is memorable, and I must say it is for the wrong reasons. The episode started off quite good, but the rest of it was sad. People say that modern Simpsons is absolute rubbish, and while I do disagree, this episode was quite disastrous. It's one of the few episodes where it is nearly hard to watch through. I liked the Intro sequence where they fit a lot of characters into the opening and I can tell the animators put a lot of effort into it. But I wasn't big about the whole elf thing. Lizzo isn't a great elf. And there was swearing to where I could hardly listen. I nearly changed the channel, and that has only happened probably once or twice before with the simpsons. But the other episodes in this season are good to watch, dont let this episode ruin your taste of the simpsons in general.
The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror XXXIV (2023)
It's great!
I was worried that this wouldn't be good due to the NFT segment, but I was wrong. The NFT segment was not mediocre or had any awful jokes in it, although I wasn't big about the last few moment of it. I think the second segment was my favorite, and I loved the reaction of Maggie working in the prison. However i should say the last segment of the episode was probably the worst in my opinion, but only
because that I just wasn't very pleased with the ending of it and the reaction of Homer seeing what Marge had become was...sad to see. But it was still a very good episode nonetheless. It is surely as good as last year's Treehouse of Horror if not better I must say.
The Simpsons: Iron Marge (2023)
Not the best of the season so far, but it's okay
This episode was pretty darn good. I thought that it would be more graphic or inappropriate like the others due to the "special time" that was was being aired at....nope. It was just to advertise the new FOX sitcom. This episode had some pretty good jokes, especially about the target store knockoff. And the B-plot of Homer and Skinners mother feuding over the neighborhood watch app was amazing. But the main storyline I would say was not as good as the B-plot, although it was still quite pleasing to watch. I like that Bart and Lisa raised money to help Marge, and I liked their reaction to seeing the spy kit. I liked their determination into finding more information about their mom. I felt kinda bad for Marge about receiving an ironing board cover instead of a robe. But the final scene about them fighting the pigeon seemed a bit...off. I would have liked it if the bird was actually showing affection for Marge in a good way and not attacking things and then the episode could end about there. I feel like the fight was just there to extend the episode longer. But, it is a decent episode aside from the end.
