Black Panther (2018)

Sadly, Marketing and Hype, The Studio obviously paid off critics

Where as I was so excited about the Black Panther, I was disappointed, I wanted to ask for my money back Predictable, bad acting, and thin story.. All while the music director only knew how to play African drum beats from a PBS special. As with all Marvel Films, the effect were good. But...there was nothing original, nothing made this superhero anything different then what we've already seen.

What gives, it had a huge budget, and could have been a great piece, but it falls short on many levels. If the cast were not colored, this would have been panned by the critics and word of mouth would let it die a quiet death. I appreciate the attempt, and still feel Black Panther is still a great character but this film just made him a "B" film lead character, or a good supporting character at best. The Black Panther deserves better! Also, why take some of the most attractive woman in the word and shave their heads, does that pass as good acting now? AND... How did one of the Wayans children land the bad guy lead in the film, bad hair and all!

I also have a hard time hearing about all this diversity, only to have either a while cast, or a black Cast.... Kind of wish it were more of a chocolate-vanilla swirl ice cream cone... Both are good, but together, they are great.

Wish I had waited and rented this film Redbox. it would have been worth it then.

Mother! (2017)

What a twisted Evil load of Crap AGAIN by Darren Aronofsky

This film is an embarrassment to anyone paying good money to be entertained. Does Hollywood not get it? Darren Aronofsky is not good at writing or directing, his twisted ideas are not worth the time and money. Did no one learn from that ridiculous drug trip of a film "The Fountain"? It is my understanding that Hollywood is a business. So why is it that they keep giving this idiot money to try and make money with a movie? The plot is thin, like it was written without any thought, overnight, just a bunch of malice towards good people! The acting is honestly campy and embarrassing. The plot is beyond any rational persons time. It is not entertaining, it is not good for anyone to watch, it is just another waste of good money. Money that could have gone to Hurricane victims instead of this writer Director! And Lawrence, what was she thinking? Did she even read the script before committing to it? I have lost faith that she understands what a good script is. She was lucky to hit it big, and now we have to endure her attempts at acting. If she was not so self righteous, and arrogant, she would be taken more seriously. But to align with this film... Obviously she knows she has no talent. It would also be nice to see an actress who is not so full of herself, and actually earn her stripes instead of just lining up for whatever film falls in her lap, no matter who she is sleeping with. Get a brain and get serious about your craft... and the business. Keep your mouth shut, select good scripts, and Earn your respect. Honestly, no one cares about your real life personal ideas, you're getting paid to be a fake person on screen. Do good work, entertain, and help society be better! I gave this a "1" and that is generous!

CHIPS (2017)

What a horrible piece of trashy crap!

What idiot gave the no talent Dax Shepard money to make this soft porn version of a beloved show! This is what happens when a Hollywood egomaniac with no talent is given money! Holy cow, how desperate Hollywood has become to make this and actually ask for money to see it.

There is no story, no plot, just cheap naked bits, no pun intended. And yes, Dax works out, we get it, but so do 1000 other actors. There is no reason for any of this nonsense on the screen. It isn't funny! HORRIBLE MOVIE, not even rent worthy, and honestly, they should be paying us to sit through this film! To find the so called "Story", this could be edited down to 12 minutes.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

Terrible writing, terrible story, not worthy of Superman or Batman.

A 2 is being generous! IS Zack Snyder doing mushrooms, that was not a Batman film, nor a Superman Film. That was a pile of horse dung. The only reason I gave this film a 2 is Gal Gadot. She was fresh, hot, and fought like it meant something to her. She was not an unintelligent pawn like the men, she was the only saving grace. The story was convoluted, the writing was thin, and the characters were shallow and unbelievable. Again, Horrible film for all the money that was spent.

There were invented ideas that had nothing to do with anything, but effects. I cannot believe anyone would give this moron of a director any money to do this. His attempt at bringing everything together was a first year film student at best, scrambling to finish his project on time. Again, who give this nut money to make films. Horrible, from his first film to this, the guy does not know how to tell a story. All his films are dark and depressing, and make no sense.

Be aware that this film calls for the audience to be complete morons! Batman's flashbacks are just a dumb,not setup well, and honestly, don't make sense. And what happened to Batman? Batman does not move well, he's slow, and honestly kind of a boring pathetic character. Not even any fun seeing the new toys... until they were being blown up.

But not as bad as Superman, Henry Cavil, ugh, my 3rd grader is a better actor. This guy, ugh... what a joke in a cape. He cuts a good form if he'd just not talk.

Okay, so let's not just pound on the men, there is Amy Adams who's acting is much like watching paint dry.

Too many story plots, too many dumb turns just to invent a reason to fight. Poorly done. This is at best a weekend rental from Redbox, no, not even good enough to rent from Google for $5, wait for it at $1.50 and that is only if you must see it.

Gone is Superman's good side, he's become one dimensional. He no longer stands for Hope, just another idiot with super powers who fights for no reason.

I just can't get over the terrible story, enhanced by terrible direction. Poorly done Zack Snyder. Sometimes it's better to not accept a job that to make things worse.

Fuller House (2016–2020)

Terrible show, not family friendly at all. Just a Sad show.

okay... So I was a fan of the show when it was Full House. After viewing the first few shows of Fuller House, we have told our kids they cannot watch it. There are too many adult themed issues. We understood this to be a reboot of the family show Full House. Sadly, this is not up to snuff for Miller-Boyett Productions!

It is very poorly written. The story lines are shallow, as are the characters. Story lines are forced, to the point of... in the first few episodes, just to get a laugh, we sat through two woman kissing, then two men kissing, and many things kids under 12 should not be exposed too.

The original show was about family and the issues kids in a family have. Now, this is just another crappy show, manipulating the success of the original. This is more about the girls who have grown up, and the poor choices they have made and continue to make.

Production Value scores a 3, and that is being generous. They obviously spend all their money on the producers and cast paychecks. The lighting in the original had a really good production feel, even if the stories were shallow, the show was produced well and looked like a descent show. But now, it is dark, dreary, and something a first year film student would make. The producers must have felt they could fix it in post, but then realized they couldn't. The art of lighting a scene is lost, the style and look of the show is lost. The lighting makes the show heavy and depressing, poorly done.

Last, I was a fan of Candace Cameron Bure until I watched this show. It seems her Christian values have a price tag, and they producers of Fuller House have found it. Someone claiming to be a Christian would not be involved with this show. It was her involvement that actually got us to watch in the first place. I guess we'll have to screen her work from now on.

It's really too bad that they have taken a favored show from my youth and have ruined it. Some things, are better left as a good memory.

Project Almanac (2015)

What a horrible job of Directing and The DP should be Fired

I was looking forward to this, but it failed in a big way. The direction was horrible and I don't know who this guy had to sleep with to get the job, but this film is not good. It gave me a headache. He must have missed the first two semesters of film school about telling a story and basic camera moves. Directing 101: Establishing shots, masters, tell the viewer what they are looking at to comprehend. The camera work was a true nightmare! This technique is alright as an effect for one maybe two scenes, but makes a mess of a film when done this way from start to finish. Due to the camera work, the film failed to tell the story. I'm pretty sure the story was good, but with such bad camera work I couldn't tell. I have a hard time with camera work that gets in the way of telling the story, which happened here in a major way.

When this film comes out on DVD I might put it through stabilization software and see what actually happened.

THANKFULLY THE CAST WAS GOOD! And this films saving grace. They were a good group of actors, and the stand out were the girls. The brunette was wonderful as was the blonde (sister), both solid actors, whom I'd love to work with them both on a show.

If you want to watch an entire film of really crappy camera work rivaling Americas Funniest Home Videos, this film is for you.
