Nora (2000)
A stunning film
The character development is well done and the interaction between the characters is handled superbly. The settings are accurate. The passion between Joyce and Nora carry them through difficult times and leads to Joyce's masterpieces. A stunning film.
Angie (1994)
A woman seeks her identity and finds it through her baby.
Gina is a wonderful actress and she is marvelous in this realistic portrayal of life in New York City. In all her moods her personality rings true. The film leaves some unanswered questions but so does life.
Il gattopardo (1963)
The novel and the film are both masterpieces.
It is rare when a novel and the film on which it is based are both superb! The cast is outstanding, the setting is excellent, the filming is beautiful and the direction handled with great care and feeling.
The film depicts the end of an era in Italy and the beginning of modern Italy. The endless ballroom scene at the close of the film depicts the close of aristocratic rule.
Why isn't the film in video and DVD? Long overdue.
