Death Note: Desu nôto (2006)
Holy shinigami, it's good
To start off, this is my favourite tv show of all time. Let's start by talking about the protagonist, Light Yagami. Light starts off as just an extremely intelligent 17 year old boy and slowly grows into one of the best written villains in all of anime. His brutal character development is incredible. He is by far my favourite anime villain. His most evil moment in my opinion happens in the final episode (related to his father) which I don't want to spoil. Now, onto the best character in the show, L. L is the main antagonist because he is against Light but he is also the hero of the story until the tragic 25th episode (in which he is killed by Rem to save Misa). L's death is the most I've ever cried at an anime, not just because it's so well written but also because there were more episodes after. Death note is a perfect anime, until episodes 26-37. Despite me enjoying the whole show, I know it could've been better. It has one of the most controversial endings to an anime because despite it still being incredible, it could've been so much better.
The Simpsons: Homer's Enemy (1997)
Better than all of season 10-34 of the simpsons
Best episode of what has got to be the absolute most beloved animated sitcom. Not my favourite, just the best. Never will there be a character as well written as Frank Grimes, that only appears in 1 episode, ever again. The voice acting is great, the story is heartbreaking and it is not what you expect from the Simpson. I've loved this show since I was young and after the rewatch, I've learnt to love this episode. Despite it being the most beloved episode, it also makes you realise that the show already peaked, season 8/34. When Grimey snaps, he has the line that makes you think: Oh yeah this is the Simpsons, homer never suffers for his actions, no matter what. That line is: "EVERYONE IN THIS PLANT IS INSANE! Insane I tell you! Aaaah! Aaaah!" this isn't him shouting at the characters, he's telling the audience. That's why he's the only character on screen during that line.
