Nerdy kink fest
11 June 2023
If you miss old SCI markings, are into short skirts & high heels, and love hearing the word 'quaternions' used in a flick, then this might be your B movie. Add to that art direction & cheesy music straight out of 'Liquid Sky' and you have all the makings of a modern day cult classic.

Giving it only 6 because of weird flat terrible acting, but come to think of it maybe that's the direction they were getting so it might not be all their fault.

I still need 150 characters so I need to mention the thigh highs and baby dolls which appear in almost every scene. I feel bad admitting this but that might be the real reason I like this movie so much - my bad!

Soros (2019)
Truly fair and balanced view of Soros
3 January 2023
Yes he made billions off of financial crises and yes he supports humanitarian causes all over the world with a small fraction of his winnings.

The film does a good job of cataloging the causes he has supported, including anti-apartheid efforts in South Africa, democratic movements in former USSR, Bosnia freedom, and so on.

The documentary also captures his funding of journalism, freedom of the press, and the support of the equitable application of justice at some times as democracy is finally achieved.

Why do so many fear him? Some brainwashed, but why? Authoritarian regimes all over the globe do not want to see home succeed, and this movie makes that case.

Not our fault
22 November 2022
My niece has been at many thanksgivings at our house and I just want to say for the record NONE of this happened at our house. Now we know what she was day dreaming about at the dinner table.

Her bad not ours. But still a good movie. This review is still too short so I had to say more: we still love our niece in spite of this movie. Still too short so I have to admit my wife and my niece didn't always get along but they still love each other, and are even on speaking terms.

Actually we really liked the swing set scene and the barf scen in the toilet (those with eating disorders please be advised) and my wife liked the deer. There are scenes that depict violence against turkeys but they did not suffer at least during filming. So there's that.

same plot as Avatar
17 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This otherwise unwatchable movie becomes more fascinating by the minute when you suddenly realize you've already seen the remake: Avatar. When Cameron, a self admitted Jetsons fan, wrote the Avatar in 1994, he knowingly or unknowingly lifted the entire plot from the 1990 release of Jetsons - The Movie. If you make it to the end of the movie I think you'll agree it's unmistakable. Happy viewing!

Best romance of 2020

My generation had 'Love Story'. It's garbage compared with a modem movie with actual acting and writing. It feels so much more genuine than the so called 'Old classics'. Let's face it: this generation are the best actors in the history of mankind, or humankind. 9 out of 10 stars.

Outstanding comparative business survey of automotive business
14 February 2012
Many reviewers seem to miss the point of this documentary, which is to document the varied approach businesses are taking to react to the new technology of the electric car. The comparisons captured between the Nissan approach versus the GM approach versus the Tesla approach are very revealing of the strengths and shortcomings of these different companies. Even Netflix gets it wrong when they categorize this movie as a Political documentary, when it is actually a Business documentary.

This movie is an instant classic for business school audiences in particular, and yet is still entertaining and engaging enough for very general audiences. Without spoiling, one scene that is particularly revealing is when two competitor's see a third's production product at an auto show, and seem unable or unwilling to understand the threat to their respective businesses.

Stunning access to a thrilling competition for a new technology in which the stakes could not be higher. Every MBA class in the world should see this movie as a precondition to graduate. 9 stars plus.
