I found the Peaceful Warrior to be a beautiful balance of life's humor and drama. Both Scott Mechlowicz & Nick Nolte deserve an Academy Award for their performances. If you want to inspire your children, educate your teens, or impart wisdom to the young adults in your life you must see this movie.

Even as a middle aged adult this production reawakened a desire to identify the important things in life. In the end, does our work inspire us enough to generate passion, creativity, and a sense of purpose. The movie reminded me of an old saying taught to me in college 20 years ago: "Life is a Journey, Not a Guided Tour"

But beyond the metaphysical depth of this move, you can enjoy it just for the entertainment value and the positive outlook on life you will leave the theater with. Take the time to see this hidden treasure.

The Librarian: Quest for the Spear (2004 TV Movie)

Enjoyable Fantasy with heart warming parts

My wife and I enjoyed this movie. I found the acting well done. To inject a light hearted whit into an 'Indiana Jones'/ 'National Treasures' like adventure provided a good night of television viewing after a hard day at work. Many of the reviews were harsh and if you are a serious movie critic you may not enjoy this movie, but for those of us who enjoy fun entertaining movies, I think you will like this one. The biggest weaknesses in the movie are the gaps in the plot line. Flynn has this 'Sherlock Holmes' ability with people, but where did it develop from. Judson mentions at the end that he was a Librarian, but there was no portrait or detail on how long a librarian serves or how they retire. There are many unanswered questions that leave gaps in the plot line and in character development, yet overall I enjoyed the concept and premise.

Hello Down There (1969)

Fun Campy Adventure

Hello Down There' was a fun, campy adventure. The movie was a cross between `Lost in Space' and the `Partridge Family' but with lots of water, a predecessor of `Sea Quest DSV'. The plot was about a family who lived at the bottom of the ocean and the adventures and friends they made, both human and aquatic, specifically a dolphin. The songs were lively and fun for kids to sing. No `R' rating here. Several well known stars participated in the movie, such as Ken Berry, Richard Dreyfuss, Merv Griffin, Janet Leigh, Roddy McDowall, Lee Meredith, Charlotte Rae, and Tony Randall. I find `Hello Down There' to be a fond, fun memory from my childhood, and would love to see it released on DVD as a family classic film.
