Earthly Possessions (1999)
Pleasently Surprised ("Spoiler Warning")
I too was a bit disapointed with the ending (personally I thought they should have ended up together) and that annoying character Mindy please someone take her out to the paddock and put her out of her misery. I think the chemistry between Susan Sarandon (Charlotte) and Stephen Dorff (Jake) was unbelievable, It made me think that there was really something going on off the screen (of course there wasn't).
I would recomend this film to anyone who likes the film genre kidnapper and hostage fall for each other.
A Walk to Remember (2002)
The Chemistry is Electrifying
I have seen this movie a number of times and can't get enough of it, the Chemistry between the lead characters (Shane West who plays Landon and Mandy Moore who plays Jamie) is unbelievable it almost seems as though the attraction and relationship has spilled of the screen and into real life, I would reccomend this film to anyone who is an old fashioned romantic at heart. And a warning have plenty of tissues handy, I won't say why as this would spoil the ending of the film.
Country Justice (1996)
"Interesting enough"
I recently seen this film and I have to say that I will never look at Don Diamont ("Ray Wilcox") the same way again, he has the "Creepy Rapist" act down pat, even when I watch him in The Young & the Restless he creeps me out (and he plays a nice guy), Rachael Leigh Cooks ("Emma") part in this film is convincing enough but doesn't show the best of her talent, the film itself is interesting enough and Ally Sheedy gives a brilliant performance as Emma's mother who is drunk and out of it for most of the film.
I reccomend it to anyone who wants to look at some of Rachael's early work and all those Don Diamont fans who want to see him in a completely different to type role.
The Lost Boys (1987)
"Small Plot Spoiler"
I have seen this movie many times, I own it on DVD, Its one of the best Vampire movies I've seen and I have to say that my favorite character in it is David (played by Kiefer Sutherland), his pure evil yet so seductive, he can bite my neck anyday (I'm a huge Kiefer Sutherland fan) Its also has its funny moments in amongst the horror, like the frog brothers, they advertise themselves as what I like to call Vampire exterminators, except there antics in trying to kill them are funny as well as stupid eg. they go into the cave where the vampires live (the 2 of them, along with there friend Sam) and stake one of them in the middle of the other 3 vamps, what was the thinking behind that i'm guessing none as the the other 3 vamps wake up and try to get the boys with out much success I might add. Well I recommend this film to anyone who like a good horror flick and also anyone who is a Kiefer Sutherland fan, its my opinion that his early work is his best like the film Stand By Me!!!
Late for Dinner (1991)
A diamond in the rough
When Willy and his brother in law Frank (Peter Berg) who is intellectually disabled run into some trouble after a misunderstanding with a land developer (Peter Gallager), which leaves Willy injured and the land developer dead, they leave there home town of Santa Fe and travel to California, where they are helped by a Dr who asks Frank if he could have a really good nights sleep and wake up with a new kidney (Frank has health problems besides his disability), would he be willing to try it, Frank wholeheartedly agrees accept Willy and Frank are cryongenically frozen and woken up 29 years later after the tanks they are in become damaged from a cable reel falling through the roof of the warehouse they are in, They then embark on a journey home to Santa Fe to get there lives back, however what they once had may not be so easy to get back, as they discover. This movie although not a smash hit or a box office hit, was in my mind quite good, Peter Gallager as the slimey land developer delivers a steller performance and Peter Berg as Frank delivers one of his best performances to date, though I am biased in that regard as I absolutely love this actor and have been following his career religiously for a while now. I'd recomend this film to all audiences, young and old.
