A common theme among reviewers is that Pierce is the only redeeming quality of the film. His role is well executed, and Dwayne's is equally so. Everybody has the same bad writing, Dwayne AND Pierce performed very well with the material.
Otherwise, Hawkman is as annoyingly writen and acted as people say. Adam Smasher is as annoyingly written as people say. There is a lot of CG, but it looks very good.
I wrote this review for two main reasons. One, to call out the utter discriminatory takes on the performances of Dwayne vs Pierce. The other is to give it a bit of a boost from the 6.3 Star rating is has at the time of this writing.
All-in-all, it's about a 7. It's a super hero movie in the DC world, we all know that the DC movies don't hold a candle to Marvel flicks. But, Black Adam is still a fun movie.
The hate seems very oddly deep rooted. When you see comparisons to Wonder Woman, the deep roots seem even more apparent. No, WW wasn't good, but the theme of negativity remains.
