I happen to like it.

I didn't know it was an indie film, so it's pretty good for not having a Hollywood budget.

I REALLY liked that despite nearly constant conflict, it wasn't rife with constant profanity, like most Hollywood films are these days.

One should be able to just watch a film, and the story unfold, without the distraction of nearly constant profanity. In that sense, those that worked on this film, are far more mature than most Hollywood script writers. Call me old school, which I am.

Anyway, my favorite character was Tuck, because of his witty comments, and empathetic nature, which seem to be a nod to Murdock, of The A Team. Well, I saw a similarity anyway.

I think the actors & actresses did a good job, of showing the character traits of each person.

I hope there's a sequel.

Some bothesome details.

Warning: Spoilers
1. Do they not give astronauts, health checks, and especially pregnancy tests on women before they go? If not, they obviously should. 2. They conveniently have a traditional pink & blue striped baby blanket that most maternity wards on Earth, wrap newborns in, when they hand the mom the newborn. They would not have had such a blanket on the 1st mission, if they didn't expect a birth. 3. If the mother passed away, and couldn't naturally feed the baby, what did they feed him, if he was unexpected? 4. How did they deal with diapering the baby, if his birth wasn't expected? How does he know he lost his mom, unless they told him? A baby/toddler, would accept any human caring for him, as his parent, unless he was told otherwise. So, some suspension of logic is needed, to enjoy the story. The film Splice, did a MUCH better job, showing the growth, milestones and maturity of the main character, the creature, than this film did. This film goes from baby, to fast forward 16 years later. What did the kid do every day for 16 years there? Did they bring toys from Earth, for him to play with? What did they teach him? Did he ever question why they want to live on barren Mars, when Earth still has trees, water, sunshine, apparently normal oxygen levels? Did the "father" plan for this to happen? It seems so to me.
