Summer of Soul (...Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised) (2021)
Great
A stupendous film. The film was found by Quest Love and it was remastered. It is the love we need. Stevie Wonder, Mahalia Jackson, Mavis Staples and others show off their music style in a documentary about the Harlem Cultural Festival. The middle of the film comes and you realize you are totally engrossed in something wonderful. There were 47 reels remastered by Quest Love. It is poignant, timely and en pointe. Riveting performances by Sly and the Family Stone and more. I would take my three kids to see this again and again. A time past remembered. A testament to the healing power of music. A celebration.
Ted Lasso (2020)
LOVE this series
This is one of the best television series ever made since Monty Python and Absolutely Fabulous. I binge watch a lot of shows. Most of the time after 4-5 episodes I am ready to start something else. But not Ted Lasso. It speaks too so much inside of us all. There was one episode where I felt like they needed to try something else, start of the new season, and they did. The show took us to a new place physically and figuratively. I recommend this show anywhere you are in the world. To make a show that has global appeal is a rare feat and hats off to this stunning team and the casting is spot on-may it run for another year.
Buddha Wild: Monk in a Hut (2006)
This feature documentary film story is uplifting and great
Relieved to see this film here on IMDB. Saw it in cinemas years ago. The monks are thrilling and delightful . The film was ahead of it's time and really speaks to diversity and inclusion. A meaningful and entertaining film with an engaging host .Clever direction by Anna Wilding. If could I would see it again in a heartbeat. A beautiful cinematic experience. The score by Charles David Denler underpinned the production's stunning warm visuals. Anna was the perfect inspirational and natural host to tell this story. An uplifting movie full of the spirit that so many films lack today. It may have sold out on DVD but if you can, see it on the large screen. More.
