Basically Child Exploitation: The Movie
16 August 2024
This film is one of the worst cash grabs ever made, and promotes the exploitation of child stars on YouTube. The characters are complete jerks who barely learn anything, animation that is passable but poorly lip-synced, and the most generic story a kids film could ever have, that doesn't deliver anything new and fits a 5 minute cartoon more than a feature film. It is filled to the brim with product placement, acting that feels extremely forced and souless, jokes that either make no sense or are used as filler, and the film itself isn't even faithful enough to the Ryan's World franchise itself, feeling more like a reboot than an adaption. This is among the worst kids movies of the past decade, along the lines of Norm of the North, The Emoji Movie and Cool Cat Saves the Kids.

Kiff: The Sound of Helen/Weekly Grocery Shop (2023)
Season 1, Episode 13
10/10
My review
1 November 2023
First, let's get to "The Sound of Helen". This episode is similar to the SpongeBob episode "Band Geeks", and it's understandably good. Kiff and her friends decide to put on a musical for Helen, but it goes wrong, making Helen sad and disappointed, so Kiff and her friends decide to put on a simpler, and better musical, which makes Helen happy at the end.

Helen is normally an unlikable and selfish jerk, but this episode does show that she does care for those who help her. The musical that Kiff and friends play is funny and a nice take on the rule that every other episode of Kiff has a song. This is one of the best episodes in the show, and I give it a solid 9/10.

The next episode/segment is "Weekend Grocery Shop". Kiff and her friends go shopping at the store to get "free samples", but they are stopped by a grumpy shopkeeper. It's a mediocre and average, because the plot is ridiculous and there are multiple sideplots that don't really make much sense until the end. It's a decent 6/10, and at least the jokes and writing saved this one.

Kiff (2023– )
10/10
Best cartoon of the 2020s (so far)
2 May 2023
I think Kiff is the most underrated show of all time. It combines colorful animation, humor, and a whole lot of fun to create a show everyone will love. Kids will like the quirky characters and fast-paced action, while adults will enjoy the humor, animation and songs. It's basically a mix of Adventure Time, TAWOG and Regular Show, which is an AMAZING combo.

This series follows the adorable squirrel Kiff and her bunny best friend Barry as they try to navigate through life. They are in middle school and have quite the plethora of adventures together. Kiff is very much a buddy comedy that breezes by, with each episode being two eleven-minute segments (there's already 60 of them).

Kiff has to be one of the greatest animated TV series of the 2020s, especially with more shows trying to be hip and scummy now.

The humor it is a little bit less adult than expected, however the jokes are still fine most of the time and some of them are even hilarious. What's even better are the excessive morals; they aren't shoved in your face but if you pay enough attention you will see messages about family, friendship, and honesty. All things that are important in life. The good thing is Kiff doesn't necessarily teach kids to push boundaries and do things you aren't supposed to do by rewarding the bad behaviour.

The songs are some of the best I've heard in an animated TV series. They actually have variety and focus more on being short and fun rather than long and repetitive. The animation, despite somewhat being generally slow and stiff, is clean, colorful and expressive.

The show is episodic and cohesive, meaning that you don't necessarily have to watch them in order. However for those who do, they will notice tons of callbacks to previous episodes, especially in the series finale.

Ryan's World (2017–2024)
1/10
Just an excuse to make millions
15 April 2023
Ryan's World and its nine other channels are just so bad, and mediocre at best. The only thing that keeps this trash from being the worst is the characters, which I kinda like. Here's what I think of every channel in the Ryan's World "cinematic universe". The editing is very cheap, they keep using the same FREAKING STOCK MUSIC OVER AND OVER AGAIN. They keep mentioning products all the time and it's being used to exploit children. What was once an innocent kid playing with toys is now just a bunch of random adults making new channels every year just for money, even if some of the channels only get a couple thousand views on each video. NO MORALS OR EDUCATIONAL VALUE, they just teach us science and that's it. If you want kids to watch ad-free and educational content, let them watch Blippi and Cocomelon, at least they have more effort and educational value, no cheap Flash animation or anything BULLCRAP.
