The Last Chance Detectives: Escape from Fire Lake (1996)
Four teenagers team up to solve a mystery, and one gets thrown into the desert.
Amazing! The Last Chance Detective movies are awesome! I have lots of fond memories when by Brother, his friend, and I would go next door to the Sunday School house after church and watch a Last Chance Dectective movie on an old TV probably from the early 70's. These movies are great for kids. Cool plots, typical "good guys against bad guys themes," and they even throw in some good old Biblical moral values. Definitely a must-see for pretty much any kid from age six to eleven, or beyond. I'm sixteen now and I still love watching The Last Chance Detectives. Escape from Fire Lake is the best of the three movies in the series, probably because the kids are older and the plot seems a little more plausible than the previous two films.
Eragon (2006)

It's really a shame. Even though the book Eragon is a complete rip-off of Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, it's still a great book. The movie was mediocre. The only real good acting was by Jeremy Irons (Brom). The movie cuts out about 70% of the book, and it's only around 90 minutes or so. Someone should make a remake of Eragon and make it a lot longer, with more intelligent dialog and much more character interaction. That's what makes a good movie.
If you've read the book, see the movie, but beware, you probably imagined the everything looking completely different than it does in the movie. For example, Eragon shouldn't have blond hair or have a "pretty-boy" face like Edward Speleers, and King Galbatorix shouldn't be bald. If they make a movie of ELDEST, the sequel, they should get a new producer, director, writers, and maybe even some better actors.
