Black War: Mission Exteme 2 (2023)

Massive Improvement

The people who were disappointed with the first part of the franchise can have a sigh of relief cause second part lives up to the expectations. Thanks to Arifin Shuvoo's tremendous dedication and also direction of Sunny Sanwar & Faisal Ahmed. Having said that, there were flaws in the film as well.

Positives :

• First positive is Shuvoo himself. No work in 2022, no problem. The output was as good as his preparation. And also his acting performance improved a lot.

• I think we all should keep in mind of our limitations of industry and not compare with other industries. Still, I would say action was really good. The final hand to hand combat scenes, Dubai sequences and even the ones in Dhaka. Efforts are appreciated.

• There is an interrogation debate scene between Manoj and Shuvoo. No loud acting, no fight, just sheer brawl of ideologies. Simply brilliant!

Then showing glimpse of an eagle after the protagonist takes sniper shots to signify his accuracy. These details were good to watch.

• Emotions in the film were kept subtle and blended well with the story specially the relation with mother. Noble's song added depth to the arc. Romantic arcs didn't distract the main plot.

• Sadia Nabila, Taskeen Rahman, Fazlur Babu also did well in their roles.

Negatives :

• Excessive force fed placements of advertisements became so annoying at a point.

• Lack of enough good songs. The item song was below par. Urge to attract single screen audience is understandable though.

• The casting was huge and obviously it was hard to handle all characters. Some characters and plots were left underutilized.

Overall, it was a good watch. Black war should become successful. Otherwise, artists would lose faith in hardwork. 2023 starts with a bang. Go watch it, I assure you, you won't be disappointed.
