Loki: Glorious Purpose (2023)
Loki season 2 is a great season of Doctor Who!
Seriously, can anyone doubt that Loki is an incarnation of the Doctor?
He visits other worlds, other dimensions, travels in time with a company of trash talking side kicks that keep him humble, ( (who often get in their own side adventures)
And, though time goes wrong occasionally... he defeats the evil bad guy to straighten it out again.
Folks... that is Doctor Who, in a nutshell.
It is clearly what they were aiming for. Brad Wolf? I was waiting for Rose Tyler to show up with Jack Harkness next.
It was fabulous, but clearly a Doctor who lead up, since Disney just got the rights to all future episodes of Doctor Who.
Loki: Breaking Brad (2023)
Almost fell off my chair laughing!
Come on people! Are there REALLY no other DOCTOR WHO junkies in the MARVEL fandom?
BRAD WOLF? THAT IS NO ACCIDENT!
That is a MASSIVE WHO reference!
The Time stream is messed up! So we have bleed through of THE WHONUVERSE into MARVEL!
Beautifully done... just beautiful.
I tip my hat to that very subtle, yet astonishingly glaring BAD WOLF reference.
As someone who was dragged into Marvel by my kids, but is a lifelong Whovian... WELL DONE!
Yes, it is chaotic. It is meant to be! Time has gone wrong! Be patient. It will all make sense in the end. This series is becoming more and more like Dr Who!
Fear the Walking Dead: Divine Providence (2022)
What happened to this show???
Drivel. Sappy, pointless, nonsensical, drivel.
Good Lord. If I have to sit through one more introspective speech, or listen to the sad, sappy music one more time...I'm gonna hurl myself into the next passing herd of walkers.
Strand has become a caricature. I am laughing at the dialogue at this point. Dwight and Sherry's CODE sounds like a line from ELF. I chuckle every time they talk about it. I almost fell over when Morgan and Grace and the baby survived the nuke under a CAR??? Talk about a "nuke the fridge" moment.
They should have put this mess out if its misery several seasons ago.
Just stop already.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)
That sure was a movie...
That was a movie, all right. No one can say it wasn't. A good movie? Eh...
But a movie, nevertheless..
Required Characters? Okay...
That sure did happen. I am glad I didn't pay extra for a movie ticket.
Mediocre, at best.
A lot of stuff happened. Nobody cared, because everyone was too busy missing Chadwick Boseman. Way too long. Way too much filler. OHMYLORD. I still haven't hit the minimum word count? How many times do you want me to say mediocre, too long for a tribute to Chadwick Boseman (at 2 hours and 38 minutes) and suddenly became Avatar:The way of water out of nowhere. For as great as the first movie was, I was expecting much more.
Dracula (2020)
That man was BORN to play Dracula!
I have watched through this series at least 4 times. The first 2 episodes are 10 out of 10 stars.
In the last one, there are highlights, certainly great moments, but the script falls short.
Claes Bang's performance however, never falls short. He nails this role in every episode. And I love the sarcastic humor. He was BORN to play Dracula!
This definitely scores high on the creepy meter. Lots of jump scares (but in all the right places)
The actress who played Sister Agatha also did a tremendous job as the irreverent nun.
Another season please, Netflix! We need more Claes Bang! (perhaps a prequel?)
