Susan Slade (1961)

A nice movie for that era
7 April 2024
I have always enjoyed Connie Stevens and Troy Donahue in the older movies. This one did not disappoint. I know it does not matter now. The parents of Susan pretend her child is theirs. The truth does come out eventually! That did happen in real life. At least in my husband's family. His mom and aunt's cousin had a child out of wedlock and her mother claimed it was hers. Only her mother, sister and father knew. She eventually married and had a daughter - her only other child. She passed away 60 years later, and we were at the service. Her "baby brother" was there. On the way home my aunt said she and the sister were now the only ones alive that knew that "Dave" did not bury his sister but his mom.

Rizzoli & Isles (2010–2016)
What can I say - I love this show
1 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I just wish it lasted longer. I have read the Rizzoli and Isles books - much darker than the series but I love how they did the series. And spoiler for the books: Jane marries Dean. I sorta wish that Rizzoli married Dean, like she does in the books. That would make it interesting him being in the FBI. Anyway, I loved all the characters. It was nice that they did a show on Frost's dying in a car accident and not just left. The actor passed away and it must have been hard for the rest of the cast. I did not even mind the character of Angela that became even more irritating as the show went on. When she pushed Jane about her pregnancy, I leaned on not liking her at all. I had a mother that babied me. She never wanted me or my sister to be anything but 12. Even after I got out of the Army, she still wanted to treat me that way! Maybe that is why I am not an Angela fan. I still watch it on Lifetime and on Smart TV (when we camp out in our travel trailer)!

Castle: XX (2015)
Season 8, Episode 2
1/10
This is getting so tiring
27 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I have watched and loved Castle. It was fun to watch but dragging out her mother's death for all these years due to some big conspiracy has gotten so tiring. When Senator Bracken was arrested, this should have ended it. Not some bigger conspiracy. The cherry on top was Beckett deciding to leave Castle to protect him? Does she not realize that the so called bad guys know they are married, that she has a step daughter, mother-in-law and father that would also be in danger? Just leaving him does not negate that fact! There should never have been a Loksak. It was tiring with the 3XK guy and I was thrilled as they finally took out that character! They could have brought back Castle's dad for a couple episodes and made it fun. Not this mess.

Major Crimes: There's No Place Like Home (2013)
Season 2, Episode 9
10/10
My favorite of the Major Crimes series
21 April 2023
A landlord is dead. Did he kill himself or was he murdered? Suspects galore with the old people of the apartment complex as some of the suspects. Also, the landlord is not a good guy for his is also a criminal. He has let everything go and treats them bad. But which one did it? Meanwhile Provenza is trying hard to qualify with his gun. And he finds a clever way of dealing with it so he won't be chained to a desk job. The seniors casted in this episode of great character actors: Ron Glass, Tim Conway, Paul Dooley, Doris Roberts and Marion Ross. Provenza asks Doris Roberts (Vera) who she sees on the balcony (Flynn) without her glasses. "It's the little Mexican fella"! Some high powered glasses she needs!

Buried in Barstow (2022 TV Movie)
10/10
A movie on Lifetime that was worth watching!
8 June 2022
I only watch Lifetime for the crime shows like Castle, The Closer, Major Crimes and Rizzoli & Isles. Angie Harmon is the kick butt cop Rizzoli in that series. She was also on Law and Order some years ago. When I saw this movie coming up, I told my husband we need to see this. We now hope that there will be more of Hazel as well as Elliot. Harmon's Hazel is a strong character with a past she would prefer to keep hidden. Kristoffer Polaha is Elliot who shows up and becomes her dishwasher in her cafe. He also wishes to keep his past secret. In both cases the past won't stay hidden and it was an intense ride to see what happens next.
