The Brink of Dreams (2024)
An Upper Egyptian Documentary

An excellent short-movie and documentary by Nada Riyadh & Ayman El Amir;
In a remote village in Southern Egypt or Upper Egypt, a group of girls rebel against their own families' strict traditions by forming an all-female street theater troupe but they get ridiculed for it.
The girls simply dreamt of becoming actresses, dancers and singers like so-many Egyptians in Lower Egypt, challenging their own religious and conservative families with their unexpected performances.
The short-movie was shot within a long duration of whole four years to capture different periods in thise girls lives, The Brink of Dreams follows them from childhood to womanhood, and while facing the most crucial choices of their lives.
